$10,000 Atari 2600...

Wow, either that guy is TERRIBLE at research or it is a joke. Sure, Chase the Chuckwagon has SOME value (not nearly as much as it used to), but you can hardly give away games like ET and Pac Man.

Also, what's with the "Michael Jackson's Moonwalker"?

I've heard E.T. credited as the worst game in history and I've heard people say it was responsible for the video game crash of 1983, but never that it was rare. I had one as a kid. I think it's still in storage in my parents' attic. It may be worth a trip over there if I can sell it for a grand!

Not to brag, but if his is worth 10 gr., then mine, as well as a few other guys' i know, collection of crappy old atari games should be enough to retire on! Sweettttttttttt!

It goes for $1.00 at flea markets. I remember when they had near 100 brand new, boxed ET's for a buck each in a bin at a music store in 1985. I sifted through it, going "Aw man, it's all ET!" before finding a Yar's Revenge cartridge I wanted.

Later, my mom bought me ET and...well, confession: I really liked it. Trying to make it to the landing pad while the counter was expiring and the FBI was after you was fun. I remember once finding the landing pad (which you have to discover) one tick before the ship came down, while being chased. Nail-biting.

The most heartbreaking scene in Atari 2600's history is having the rescue ship land right after ET dies (runs out of energy; has to be timed perfectly). It just sits there next to his body with its engines running endlessly.

Someone has made an offer.

Hopefully it's along the lines of $35... :D

I remember the local Kay Bee toy store couldn't hardly give away ET carts...at one point they had them in a discount bin for 50 cents a piece. I did get a rare one there BITD though, Swordquest Waterworld, which I still have :)

for that much he should at least give a full list of games. but one thing he doesn't know is, some games are rare cause they suck balls.

i liked E.T.
til the perv in the trench coat catches you!

Would you like to come in for a glass of wine and a cupcake?

I sold off most of my rare carts when the boom hit in the early 2000's, but I still have several hundred carts. Et is one of them, and it is nowhere near rare.

]some tears along the power supply - which can easily be fixed with some black tape

Nice, for $10,000 you can fix any visual problems with some black tape... and for $10,000 you still have to pay $17.77 in shipping? For that kind of money he better fly to my house and hand deliver it to me for free with a freshly made meal from Chef Ramsey.
