1 Spark is all it takes! and a good friend to bring another Timber in this world

I just wanted to give a public thanks again to Mike Roma for helping me lay the Timber sideart on a cab that was two thoughts away from being in the dump. I held onto this cab for over a year and was about to dump it when I had to down size my storage unit. Thank god my heart would not allow me to do it, so I just decided one day to start fixing it up and maybe make it a Tapper. As I started to see the progress of how it was coming out I said to myself I might as well keep this and make it into a Timber since I wasn't 100% happy with mine that I already had. Long story short. Mike Roma came over this morning and help me put the art on the cab and after we got done that spark hit my ass and couldn't spot working on it till I hit the finish line.

What work did you have to do to the cabinet? Any roughness, due to particle board cabinet? Did you put a clear or sealer coat on before the artwork was applied? Thanks and it looks Great!

I had do cover cut out a piece of wood to fill that big hole above the coin door. I then had to fill it in and bondo along with other areas and edges on the cabinet. Then had to sand down the entire cab starting with rough paper finishing with 220 grit paper. After that it was as smooth as butter and the art laid and stuck on there very good. You just need to make sure your surface is very smooth and very clean. Also try to lay your art down on one take. The more you left up after it was stuck to the cabinet, the more rougher your art will become due to the particle board surface and will also loose adhesiveness. Do not try to apply something like this by yourself.

If anyone has any Timber parts "please" let me know. I would love to put back together and complete my old Timber machine so I can sell it or trade it to someone wanting a Timber since its still in decent shape. I need a control panel, bezel, marquee and wiring for the pcb only. I have Tapper wiring, but I see it a little different.

Has anyone scratch built a replacement Tapper style cabinet?

Reason I ask is - Mine is 'ok', but the particle board is rough in places. So, that could be fixed, BUT.. The bottom on mine is cracked, weak and caving upwards in. It's very green and would need the sideart to look decent. All that combined, I'm thinking about copying it and building a new plywood cabinet for it.

I just put my old Timber cabinet up for sale or trade in the for sale section which they all were Tappers originally.
