I get the impression that he listed it once before, had to field a lot of tire kickers (re: questions, spurned by a poorly written ad with one crappy pic) and lowballers (re: people with more sense than money and an accurate picture of the item's value), and doesn't want to sound weak or negotiable (re: amicable or reasonable).

If you have received an offer of $1400.00 I would highly suggest taking it, it is unlikely you will get a much higher one then that in all honesty. I have been collecting for years and that is the highest price I have seen anyone actually offer or pay for one. I have seen them listed for sale at a similar price but they don't sell that high.
