    I stumbled across advice on here about those adapters that seems strange but it really helped clear up the picture a lot, it was to connect a spare VGA cable to the VGA input. For some reason it helps.

    Mine was doing that too when I bought it. I disconnected and reconnected the ribbon cables and it worked fine after that.
