    WG D9400 Remote Board Hack?

    Well, it worked! Never mind that one button misaligned, we don't talk about that.

    WG 27" K7500 Sync Questions

    Curiosity. Also, I've read some EGA monitors can be coaxed in to accepting CGA input, but I don't want to blow anything out in attempting it.

    WG 27" K7500 Sync Questions

    Someone in my area is selling a medium res K7500. I don't know much about this model, but was wondering what would happen if you tried to run a 15khz or 31khz signal through it? I assume you'd get a garbled image, but will it hurt the chassis or game?

    WG D9400 Remote Board Hack?

    For reference, here is the relevant section of the schematic. Side question, for the diode, will any 6.2V zenner diode work? No watt rating is listed. Should I default 1/2W?

    WG D9400 Remote Board Hack?

    I have a WG D9400 without a remote board. Apparently replacement boards are non-existent. Looking at the schematic and pictures of the remote it's just 5 switches, 4 resistors of descending value, and a diode. I should be able to recreate a temporary remote with a bread board and the...

    K7000 Foldover Issue

    Okie dokie! No, origional tube and chassis to this Dynamo, as far as I can tell. I changed them because thats what the manual said might work given my original issues. It did fix the problems.... mostly. Anywho, JUST got it working! I inadvertently desoldered one of the traces from IC3 not...

    K7000 Foldover Issue

    Going from component to component I've been just checking the item and referencing the schematic. I passed over R83 (680 ohm) and when I tested it it read half that (330 ohm). I went to desolder it, just to check its value out of circuit, and found another resistor with the same rating soldered...

    K7000 Foldover Issue

    I have this K7000 that aaaaaaaalmost works after needing quite a bit of work. I replaced IC2 and IC3, all new caps, checked ratings for all resistors in the vertical and horizontal circuit, adjusted 50/60hz pot, H-hold, V-Size, etc. and this is as close as I can get it. Hard to tell from this...

    So how bad is this?

    Got a new cabinet with a wonky monitor recently. I began taking apart the chassis, and when I went to remove the neckboard part of the socket on the tube came with it. Is there a way to fix this? Can I still use it as is as long as the board is secure?

    WG U2000 width issue

    Ye'anyway, back to the original question: will reducing the rating of a resistor somewhere in the horizontal circuit result in a wider image? If so, which is the best candidate?

    I am pleased to report it's aliiiiiiive! It was indeed the IC201. It appears the replacement I initially purchased was the culprit. Thank you so much to everyone who diligently helped me get through this ordeal! @PinFixin @M K L in particular. I guess eBay is my new supplier of choice.

    WG U2000 width issue

    I'm not sure if the U2000/U5000 have the same characteristics, but the core was about halfway down the tube to begin with and there seems to be no difference between maxed out either direction. Edit: I retested with the core level with the top, no change. The pot on the remote does offer...

    WG U2000 width issue

    I have this WG U2000. Recently recapped it and replaced a few components that were not to spec. However now I can't adjust the horizontal width to meet the edges. Just under 3/4" on both sides. This is with width maxed out on the remote board. Are there resistors I can swap to increase the...

    Sharp Image SI-134 / KTM-F 33 Vertical Collapse++

    R206 = 2.1ohm R207 = 908ohm I went ahead and tested every R2##. The only anomaly is: R203 = 3.3k ohm, schematic says 3.3k, your parts list says 2.4k and no change for the 33" model. Leaving it as is. Yes, horizontal line stretches the entire width, and is effected by the remote board.

    Sharp Image SI-134 / KTM-F 33 Vertical Collapse++

    Yes, collapse was present to begin with. Changed IC201, then R901 started blowing up, then we fixed D410, now we're back to vertical collapse. I have no way to test if IC201 is damaged, other than looking for shorts between legs (there are none). Guess I'll get another and test that? Present...

    27.6V at pin 14. No bridges or continuity between pins. The line of light is returning to an indistinct blob continous across the screen. No more individual pixels implying animation. As a separate experiment, I've tried bridging the sync inputs, sending the sync to just H, and sending to just...

    Sharp Image SI-134 / KTM-F 33 Vertical Collapse++

    Success! D410 has solved the burning R901 issue! Unfortunately, still have complete vertical collapse. I'll take what I can get! Edit: the intensity is also not so bad anymore. I can see striations in the line, and there are animations playing. It's just 1 pixel tall. Oh, and the high pitched...

    Sharp Image SI-134 / KTM-F 33 Vertical Collapse++

    Reads 0.003v both directions. I have a feeling this is a significant source of issues. Got a replacement coming. With D410 out of circuit, C119 no longer shows short to ground on positive leg. C119 = 2.2kohm C902 = 2.1kohm C903 = 2.1kohm The ųf/V values of the caps are correct. The ohm...
