Oohhh, got a specimen on my hands: #01050

    Centipede Cabaret Qs

The CP is intact and has the correct holes for Centipede, just the wrong CPO. I think the hardest part to find might be the trackball. I kinda dig the woodgrain sides, I am a woodworker after all. Are the white sides like yours "authentic," or a stylistic choice?

    Centipede Cabaret Qs

I picked up this cute little Atari Cabaret that had Sky Shark in it. Knowing nothing about either the game or the cabinet, it was cheap enough that I figured why not, a little spit polish and new switches, right as rain. Well, I got down to business, vacuumed it out, took the non functioning...

How would you like to wait almost 2 months for this?

    I believe it's pronounced "SAY-bow."

Oh thanks @mecha , if you're ever in the Twin Cities, I'll be sure to supply a helmet should you visit.

Tekken 5 Restoration Rusted to Resurrected

Well, the parts were all cured a few days after painting and reassembly began! You may notice in that second picture, I had to drill new holes for the ever-so-slightly-smaller-than-a-Japanese-29"-monitor monitor I was using. I wish I had taken a picture of my fancy ass jig I made. I am a...

Tekken 5 Restoration Rusted to Resurrected

Well, a quick wire wheeling and hand sanding to 180 got the metal back to a respectable condition I didn't really take pictures once I got them to the spray booth, but once the metal was prepared for finish I began with a DTM primer which smoothed all the grooves quite nicely. While...

Tekken 5 Restoration Rusted to Resurrected

About two months ago I picked up a Tekken 5 dedicated cabinet from an arcade that was closing a location in NJ. I was just passing through, but the price was good enough for a short detour and pick-up. I was pretty happy with the condition when I unloaded it into my shop. That happiness didn't...

    Biscuit Joiner

Ah, did that come off as defensive? Didn't bother me at all, I was trying to compliment you before telling you it was probably your fault. :)

    Biscuit Joiner

No, you're exactly right. Just a PITA to deal with the holes and shrinkage of fillers. Lap joint is a a little more front end work, but the sanding is quick and it doesn't require another specialty tool/special screws.

    Biscuit Joiner

You are a wealth of knowledge on cabinets and their variations and a valuable resource... but you are mistaken in this case. As we say in the FGC: skill issue, bro. More likely, you're using a water based glue, which would be what causes the added moisture in the substrate.

    Biscuit Joiner

This is how we splice all sheetgoods from veneer core to hardboard. There are a number of potential reasons your joints may fail when performing this operation - dull router bits, wrong type of glue for the material, not cutting far enough from the damaged substrate, etc. - but I couldn't be...

    Biscuit Joiner

Hah, fortunately I just answered the same question in a PM, in reference to the video. If I had to do the same operation, I would make the initial cut exactly the same. Then I'd make another cut twice the thickness of the material above the initial cut, and half the depth. Then I'd make the...

    Biscuit Joiner

Cabinet maker chiming in: biscuit joinery is for indexing and alignment, not structural integrity. They're optimally used to align non-structural elements that have different dimensional stability from what ever base it's being attached to. E.g. breadboard edging on a counter top, or mitred...

    Dynamo HS-4?

I just got this behemoth, I believe it is a Dynamo HS-4 based on the fact it has a 25" monitor. It has been modified to be a gun game, obviously, but the CP has the left over holes on the underside for a 2L12B game. Looking at the manual, it implies the original CP was just a pair of lexan...

    Control Panel Overlay Reproduction Service?

Bit of a necro, but, @kayzp4ul were you able to find someone to reproduce the art? I also just purchased a Tekken 5 cabinet with janky artwork.

    Strange Dynamo HS-5 Panel

I don't know that this CP was originally attached to the cabinet, but the cabinet itself is an HS-5 as far as I can tell; single piece vertical panels. No stickers besides the front Dynamo decal. Anywho, yeah, I've been watching for them on the trading post but one hasn't come up in a bit. I...
