Control question on JAMMA switched cabinet

It's a dip switch. EDIT: this is a supportive commentary to your comment, not contrary :) I feel like the picture makes things clearer for people.

Control question on JAMMA switched cabinet

RiddledTV makes this jamma tester with pass through that is very handy for doing stuff like this :) https://riddledtv.com/jamma_testers.html

Control question on JAMMA switched cabinet

I have always found it better to make the board work with the cabinet, not the cabinet work with the board, especially when using a switcher system. JAMMA standard is just 3 buttons rather than 4, so fingers crossed op's setup has that 4th wire.

Control question on JAMMA switched cabinet

how are you connecting the smash tv to the ez switcher? I am assuming EZ game interface Jamma? What i have done with many of my EZ game interfaces is I have cut the traces to remap any way I needed. Could also use the EZ any game interface, but I have found cutting traces and remapping is...

Galaga Garbled Sounds -Boom Sounds OK

@sheister I don't know if anyone mentioned this, but low voltage would also cause garbled sounds. Checking the voltage on the board could be a clue. Check the 5v cap to the left of the edge connector. I see that you adjusted voltage, did you check voltages on chips? make sure those are also at...

Galaga Garbled Sounds -Boom Sounds OK

Bitkit is an FPGA and plays Galaga great according to some serious players and me. Adding to that, Pacman patterns work, tested by one of the latest people to get a perfect Pacman.

6 in 1 switcher - Audio Pop when changing/louder sound effects in game

I have a multi Kombat setup with riddledTV ez switcher, but even with a single board connected, my Kombat pcbs pop when started. It's decently loud but nothing I have ever worried about. -Edit: I didn't realize that sounds were changing and popping during gameplay either. I would verify boards...

    Popeye JAMMA power question

the dips, i believe, being labeled game elf, should interact with pin 27 and ee to be ground or input. The three pots interact with the color. Shoot a message to arcade forge to get a detailed explanation of the components on that super gun :)

    Popeye JAMMA power question

27 should be the same as pin 28, ground for jamma standard. Going back to the color issue, see if you can adjust each pot independently

    Popeye JAMMA power question

No worries :) If you look at the images, I highlighted the pins. P1_B1,2,3 are labeled, but if you look at 25,26,27, that is buttons 4-6. Chamma uses this so that a kick harness is not needed. JAMMA doesn't use pin 25 and 26, so not problem, but for JAMMA standard, pin 27 is a ground. This may...

    Popeye JAMMA power question

This has been the issue I first brought up a week or so ago. CHAMMA has 6 buttons wired instead of 3 for standard jamma. Plugging in a standard jamma into a CHAMMA setup wired as input to ground which may interfered with the shared video ground. If you look at the images, you can see pin 27...

    Popeye JAMMA power question

pinout, posted above. Button 6, pin 27, is a button input instead of ground, which is what you do not want. I see that the maker of this is on shootem up forums but also, from what I can tell, runs http://www.arcadeforge.de/ Going back to the color problem, I haven't messed with the RGB...

    Popeye JAMMA power question

I believe this confirms chamma. When you hook up the board, it runs 27 to ground which can cause issues. Play with that dip and see if you can get pins 27 and 28 to beep. Try different configurations, board not plugged in.

    Popeye JAMMA power question

The above image is showing that when you connect a board to test the super gun, it will link pins 27 and 28 together. We want to make sure that the super gun is set for JAMMA standard and doesn't have pin 27 goin to an input rather than the ground. So nothing plugged in, there should be...

    Popeye JAMMA power question

Just want to ensure it is grounded like this for Jamma. If pin 27 goes to an input, depending on how the super gun handles it, it can cause issues, routing that to video ground. I am not sure if this is your issue, but I have seen boot issues, color issues, etc with using chamma with jamma. Just...

    Popeye JAMMA power question

So those need to be tied together without a jamma adapter added. The jamma adapter will tie those two pins together, which is an issue if button input gets tied into video ground. I think there are multiple points of failure with just the cables, but this just needs to be confirmed. Touching the...

    Popeye JAMMA power question

With the jamma adapter plugged in, it will tie those two pins together because the adapter is JAMMA standard. The board states it supports CHAMMA, from what I can tell which is known to cause video and boot issues.

    Popeye JAMMA power question

it might not beep but register something on the screen. Nothing registered? I would want to confirm that pins 27 and 28 are together as that can mix in some things into the ground and cause issues. Looking at this image, it does look like signal interference.

    Popeye JAMMA power question

Try flipping the dips up to ON instead. I can't see, but might need that one more over? It is the setting with the "speaker" icon. When you touch red and black probes together, it should beep. If this is yours, it is the bottom left setting
