  1. Smoke coming from k4600 chassis

    Check this out.
  2. AD Monitor Spot Killer

Maybe someone else will chime in. I’m not an expert on these. Unless I’m mistaken, the XY voltages look like you should have something on the screen. That’s why I’m thinking Z. At least with a scope you could see if it was outputting in the XY.
  3. AD Monitor Spot Killer

I meant did you remove the solder. I’m wondering if you have an issue in the Z section on the main board. I’ve had issues in that section before, I don’t remember if it turned on the spot killer though. If you had an analog scope it would be nice. I don’t think you have an issue on the monitor side.
  4. AD Monitor Spot Killer

Those look like good readings. Recheck your AC with the machine in test. The missing resistors I think was an Atari bulletin. I don’t they were actually needed. Have you removed and soldered the header pins on the boards in the chassis? They are known to crack and cause issues.
  5. AD Monitor Spot Killer

    Check it in test mode.
  6. AD Monitor Spot Killer

What’s the DC volts on the XY? You should also unplug the monitor.
  7. G05-801 no neck glow.

Yes, I used the wrong term. I did remove and resolder. I think I just reflowed it the first time though. But you make a good point.
  8. G05-801 no neck glow.

Yeah. I had reflowed them a couple years ago. But I have been using my cab to test boards and have unplugged and plugged in P100 several times in the last few years. I just got done repairing my board, when this crapped out.
  9. G05-801 no neck glow.

You don’t know my luck. Lol
  10. G05-801 no neck glow.

That’s the board I just reflowed. But, I will keep that in mind. I was just relieved to see the glow come back. I didn’t want to think that the tube heater was junk.
  11. G05-801 no neck glow.

I’ve been waiting for the site to come back up so I could post the fix. I pulled the regulator board and reflowed the solder on the pins for connectors P100 and P101. I reflowed them a couple years ago when I capped the board. Didn’t see anything wrong with them under a microscope, but figured I...
  12. G05-801 no neck glow.

    Filament resistance is 3.3 ohms.
  13. G05-801 no neck glow.

Asteroids upright was working good. Turned it on and no picture. Noticed no neck glow. Fuses are good, coin door light works. Not the game board causing it. Also spot killer not on. Not sure what to test on this. Thanks.
