Galaga Marquee - originally glass or plastic?

Among the earliest Galagas were likely Bosconian cab converted ones, and the Bosconian cab one here had a plexiglass marquee (true the marquee could have been replaced, but didn't seem to have been).

    Time Soldiers Cabinet Color Consensus

Here's what I had decided with mine and made fitting side art to fit the HS-1 cabinet: https://forums.arcade-museum.com/threads/new-time-soldiers-custom-art-restoration.408456/ A blue cabinet color would look pretty nice also!

    Strange Dynamo HS-5 Panel

You can also do what I did on a Final Fight restoration. See about 1/5 of the way down on this link: https://arcademade.com/pages/capcom-final-fight-arcade-game-cabinet-restoration Get a sheet of 26 gauge steel at Lowe's/Home Depot and cut it to size and epoxy it on top of your panel. Then...

    Preserve Jr Pac Man stencil

On a Super Pacman, I got color matching oil based paint and simply did a paint by number style refurbishment. The results were excellent. Yellow, that dark blue, and the reddish color is all you need along with a black oil based paint pen to go over the lines. I did not clear coat it after that...

To Stencil or to Decal . . .

A third option is paint by number. If you can still see the original cabinet paint, you can do a light sanding and then just get color matched paint and paint right over top of the art to restore the colors. Painters tape can help a lot to define the edges where needed. I did this on a...

    Punch-out & Super Punch-out in same cabinet

The vector labs selector has worked fine for me. Using a switching power supply has been good to use with it as it was easy to adjust the voltage up to accommodate the additional wiring for proper voltage to the board.

    Punch-out & Super Punch-out in same cabinet

Here's a photo of how I'd done mine, also bolting two cages together just with one horizontal to place some items on top for parts for the switcher.

    Dynamo HS-5 Monitor

A Taito Double Dragon cabinet is also an excellent choice as it has a drawer at the bottom to swap game PCBs and it also allows for rotating the monitor, and a wooden control panel that can easily make additional control panels for if you want to run different control configurations. HS-1...

Advice wanted: filling and re-punching a metal panel?

Here's a method I'd used on a Final Fight control panel with a sheet of 26g steel and tin snips with epoxy - scroll down about 20 percent down: https://arcademade.com/pages/capcom-final-fight-arcade-game-cabinet-restoration Many people seek the 6 button Street Fighter control panel for HS-5...

    Burgertime restore advice

One option also, without having to use stencils is to get color matching paint and just paint over the colors like paint by number. It isn't that difficult, it just takes a bit of time to do. Otherwise it also has some history as is as others have mentioned and there's no hurry to do anything...

I ended up just cutting out a basic shroud out of matte poster board also when I restored my Millipede. As mentioned, you really can't see any detail at all of it behind the dark tinted glass and it looks nice.

    Tecmo Bowl joysticks

I've got several of these joysticks, and I think the black ones I have are textured on the ball top just like the red ones. Were they all textured and then just became worn smooth (which still looks good) or were there variants? I also keep a folder for info, photos etc for most every game I...

I also do like the side art quite a bit, as the black outline ties it in with the marquee on the front, and I'm a fan of wood grain on the cabarets also.
