    Repair Report: F+F Superbikes

those ali light covers are better than nothing, but be warned they're not OEM. They basically are cheap, brittle plastic that has fitment issues. I ordered 2 before and they sent me like 5. I can't say whether or not the light boards work the same but they're probably better pcb clones than the...

    Repair Report: F+F Superbikes

super bikes is a pc. it outputs audio from the motherboard audio plug over a standard audio cable. It then goes into an io board where it gets amplified and then to speakers. you intercept it directly out of the pc motherboard.

Williams Defender repair screen is flipping draw calls both horizontally and vertically

I couldn't find that W1 jumper after looking for it on the PCB. That diagram is a lot clearer than the one in the drawings I had, but still... I could find 4E and 5B, but not W1. I'm working on a defender, but joust was in the video that led me to my fix... 2E and 2M on defender were the...

Williams Defender repair screen is flipping draw calls both horizontally and vertically

after cross referencing Ron's video here I see that the screen control is related to some 74LS257 chips on Joust. I looked up where they are on Defender and it's a similar setup but different locations. There was one at 2E and one at 2M. I first messed with the one at 2E and it kind of helped...

Williams Defender repair screen is flipping draw calls both horizontally and vertically

Hey guys, I'm working on bringing back a Defender PCB set. I've got a fully working cabinet and multiple extra boards that I'm working to get another set out of. The main pcb I have the furthest along is "playable" as in it reports all initial tests ok. It doesn't seem to crash, but there is an...

    6264 NVRAM from Pinball Electronics

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your mod. I don't know about the 6264 NVRAM, but I've used their 5101 NVRAM without any issues. Once using the factory socket and one installing my own. I don't know if you have an account over on pinside? maybe try contacting over there...

.187 fully insulated male quick disconnects 22-18awg, why can't I find them?

in my experience you should only buy mating products from the same company if you want both sides fully insulated. otherwise there's a good chance that they don't mate properly. for instance here's some 3M brand .187 for 18-22 gauge wire that I think will work...

    Nicktoons racing game disconnect issue

that sounds like a long time, but I don't own this game. is it installed on a hard disk drive or a thumb drive or what? If there are some motherboard features you're not using you could try disabling things in the bios one at a time.

    Xevious Reboot Loop

Does your Z80 reset line go low? Pin 26 according to the doc https://arcarc.xmission.com/PDF_Arcade_Atari_Kee/Xevious/Xevious_SP-230_1st_Printing.pdf if it does then we need to look at what is causing a reset. Any capacitors on the board? The problem must be on the pcb if it's doing the same...

    Xevious Reboot Loop

Any difference booting up with the test switch closed or not? Can you get to the input test? Is it resetting that way as well? I don't think the test switch would cause resetting, but maybe the test mode can help point you in a direction?

    Xevious Reboot Loop

Seems like at least your CPU, RAM, and ROM are all working... Do you have a multimeter? I would double check all of the voltages on the AR2 and on the PCB. Check if there's AC on your big blue?

    FNF Drift not booting up

When you hooked up to the onboard vga was the agp video card installed or not? Try completely removing the video card and then using the onboard video output. Does that now output anything? If not you might have a motherboard issue. Another thing to try would be a different video card. It won't...

    FNF Drift not booting up

The green asrock screen is a boot splash screen. it's part of the bios. Sometimes you can disable logos or splash screens in the bios settings. Either way it's not the problem. Likely bad caps on the motherboard or the video card. Raw thrills games usually use those microtel pcs didn't they? Not...

    FNF Drift not booting up

does your pc not turn on automatically when you turn on the cabinet? You may actually have a dead cmos battery as well. I would double check the ac recovery setting is set to turn the cabinet on when it can automatically. and you will probably have to redo the halt on no errors setting as well...
