SOLVED: k7000 19" (Skinny neck) - jump screen and wiggly lines

SOLVED! BAD flyback. Unfortunately the malfunctioning flyback was new out of the box and I made the assumption that it couldn't be the problem,..lesson learned. Also, my normal flyback testing procedures (HV probe, HR Diemen flyback tester, and ring tester) did not catch this type of issue...

SOLVED: k7000 19" (Skinny neck) - jump screen and wiggly lines

I've narrowed it down to either a flyback, neckboard socket, or neck board. The flyback I had in there was brand new and assumed it was fine, but when I swapped it out with a neckboard and flyback (older one with the white knobs) I had in inventory, I have no more jumpiness or wiggly lines. I'm...

SOLVED: k7000 19" (Skinny neck) - jump screen and wiggly lines

Replaced the battery. 9.1vdc B+ reads 119. I did double check all the components around the power supply, including the filter cap and the Voltage regulator. Checked all the components around the oscillating circuit. Swapped out IC1 and IC2 I worked on a TV several months ago with something...

Galaxian monitor connector re-wire (from k4500 to k4900)

Hope this helps someone else Had a Galaxian with an old Wells Gardner k4500 monitor (original for the game). To install a k4900, I had to re-wire the monitor connector since there wasn't one of those small adapter PCB. Below is the original mapping and change needed to connect to a k4900 (or...

    K4900 Horizontal Linearity Problem

I don't *THINK* the width cap (C312) or S-correction capacitor (C366) maybe the culprit, if you have compression on the right side. I think it maybe the linearity coil. If it was me working on it (YMMV): 1. I'd desolder the linearity coil and make sure it has no breaks in the actual coil or...

K4900 Medium Res Tube Swap Compatibility

Agree on the dot pitch and the yoke swap. Looking at the data sheet for both tubes, the dot pitch is very close. 19vJTP22 (k4600) - 0.032in (0.82mm) 19vMJP22 - 0.032in (0.81mm)

Cruis'n USA (single sit down) original stock monitor question

I am wondering what the original, stock monitor was for Crusin' USA. I followed a few threads here that seem to point to either/or U5000 or k7500, but wonder if there was a specific version of the monitor (different frame). A little background of what I'm trying to resolve… Someone local here...

Vintage K7000 / K8000 technical drawing and data brochure original wells gardner print scanned.

I'd be interested in what you come up with on the NTSC experiment. If I have time, I'd like to try in on one of my test rigs. Another question, I had a Sanyo 20EZ with a burn-free tube and electric guns still showing in the "green" on my tester. But, the guy that bought it from me said it was...

Vintage K7000 / K8000 technical drawing and data brochure original wells gardner print scanned.

Thanks Chad! Keep these coming... All of the monitor experts! Few questions that have been pulling at me for years…. 1. Specs show that you can put both RGB AND Composite (NTSC) to the k7000. I'm assuming this has something to do with the P7 connector and the uPC1397C that supports teletext...
