I always use staples (not the desk stapler). They are easy to pull out with a small screwdriver if need be. And always use a small piece of electrical tape over the staple to avoid scratches with bezel.

Simple Green is fine. I use it all the time to clean monitors chassis and all, and then some..

Never use grease. Grease gets hard over time and collects dirt. Best to use a 3-1 oil..but a coin door should only need a cleaning not oiled or greased.

Yea, I like the suttle wood grain look as well. I'll see what I can do. Had to cut 3 inches off the bottom and will make the grain go the same way with the replacement panel.

I wish I could of. But the owner wanted the 16 holes filled, the broken bottom edges repaired. Also their other games are museum quality restorations. So this has to fit in with the others..

Or.. Just thought of this after I posted this question. A good fill primer to fill the wood grain?

I have done a few restorations but this is a first with very dry older plywood. With doing some repairs and fills on this grainy plywood, that area will be smooth. So my questions is: To bondo film the entire cabinet to be smooth, or take maybe a wire brush to add grain to the smooth bondo'd area?

Is there any way to unwarp this plastic overlay? Since they are not available anywhere. Heat gun? or is that too harsh and may weaken to crack the plastic? Blow dryer? dang aint got one of those (short hair)! Let it sit in the Las Vegas 106 degree heat? Next question will be if one of the...

I have yet to get back on this. It has to be done. I'll start with Citrus Strip this weekend and hope that does it. It's just too dang hot here now at 106 today.. In the mean time I'll be looking for an original replacement from a damaged machine.

I have put this aside for a few years now, because it has been very frustrating. I have tried several different chemicals and all they do is ball up the glue, and or make it more sticky. Any ideas/secrets on how to remove the glue so I can put my nice new overlay on this thing. Much appreciated.

I'm at the point where I'm to cover the cabinet with wood grain. Too Wilsonart wood grain laminate it, or Vinyl is the question? I like the laminate for the durability and not too difficult to cut and apply. BUT: Has anybody done this with a wood grain, and what color do you think matches...
