Does Anybody Own A Harbor Freight Abrasive Blaster?

I bought a cheap blasting gun from harbor freight years ago. It works fine. My compressor is underpowered, so I have to wait for it to catch up sometimes. No big deal. I don't have a booth, so the media is all wasted. Fine for me for smaller jobs.

How do you get that textured paint look……

There is a method where you just "barely" hold the spray can trigger down and it makes this effect. It takes practice. See THIS POST

Restoration of a Mills Flip Skill mechanical game (1930s)

I had a couple non-arcade folks over today and they got super into and competitive with this game. It was fun to see.

    Silver Dollar Saloon Restoration

There is a way that is actually designed into the mechanism to do it I think it involves moving a small tang somewhere on the slide

    Silver Dollar Saloon Restoration

Mine has the slide modified so I can push it in and start a game with no quarter. I think it is a simple modification but I don't know exactly how to do it

    Silver Dollar Saloon Restoration

Yours probably has a quarter mech. Older ones had 5 or 10 cent mechs.

    Silver Dollar Saloon Restoration

To remove the coin slide, gun, etc...you need to reach in from the back and release the mechanism (some simple levers), then it comes out the front.

Should be able to drill the locks the normal way. If it were me, I'd pick them. It usually isn't too hard with these. Sometimes you even find the key inside. Mine has separate keys for the front and back.

    Sandblasting questions

My compressor sucks and it does start and stop. With the amount of sandblasting I do it isn't that big of a deal for me but I can see how it would irritate others.

    Sandblasting questions

Sandblasting kicks ass. I've used it to remove rust many times. I got a cheap gun from Harbor Freight and use it with my existing compressor. I don't have a way to capture the grit, so it's just wasted every time.

Yikes! Easiest way to fix this hole?

The fastest way for me would be to cut the hole to have straight lines, in this case a nice sharp "V". It's difficult and unnecessary to glue to jagged edges. Then I'd cut a piece to fit that V and glue it in. Sand, paint.

Wait... seagate HDDs used to be GOOD??? [custom DOS-based multicade from 2004]

I like the screws they used to hold the coin mech in place. Looks like possibly pan head sheet metal screws.
