Super Punch Out Dual Monitor dumb question

This is normal as the Sanyo monitors use 100v A/C

Anything worth harvesting from consumer TV chassis?

I also keep the annode cups; some of the replacement flybacks of yore used a more brittle rubber instead of silicone and tend to tear after years of drying out.

Will this tube work on a k7000?

I have done vertical tubes in this range; I believe my test tube is about this reading. I can double check when i get home.

K7000 static, but no neck glow after shorting.

I think you're troubleshooting at step 3 or 4. You need to start at step 1. Anytime a fuse pops, you don't just put in a new one and carry on. You need to proof out the power section before you do anything else. Watch Zenomorp's videos on K7000 Blown fuse T/S (Mike's amateur arcade repair on...

    Mortal Kombat typical chassis?

B is correct; this frame looks like a k7000, but it's missing the metal base for the chassis.

    Rebuilt 25k7000 has poor focus

For 7000s @zenomorp has commented on this and I agree: If you have to be on the maxed out side of the focus pot to get the screen in focus then it's probably on the way out. I have a couple of FBs on my parts shelf that were like this and replaced. I keep them as emergency spares.

    XM-1801N Woes: FIXED

@zenomorp did a video on this exact subject: I THINK He also did a video where I believe he put a 19" k7000 into a red tent, but I can't find it or my memory is off.

    Rebuilt 25k7000 has poor focus

While OPs issue is probably flyback, Focus can be a tube issue as well. I disagree with the idea of replacing originals without need; this has been discussed a lot around here.

Sanyo 20ez Donkey Kong scrambled picture

Thanks for this pics; I’ve never used a TPG with an inverted monitor and it’s good to know the white boarder is normal.

New to arcade repair, monitor problems with a universal chassis

Yes; Medium res chassis are a really different beast. They are from this weird time where the quality of the hardware was getting bad and at the same time, more complicated. As a result, it's really hard to find medium resolution CRTs that are functional. A lot of them were tossed in favor...

New to arcade repair, monitor problems with a universal chassis

Can anyone confirm that the 'universal chassis' can do medium resolution (ega) otherwise there's no point to OP attempting this at all, as a CGA chassis will not be able to display the medium resolution output from the game.

New to arcade repair, monitor problems with a universal chassis

A couple of problems. First: As far as I know the 'universal' monitor chassis are only standard res (15khz CGA) and Crusin' is a Medium resolution game. So it will not work for that game at all Second: The universal monitor chassis require isolated power. I believe the monitors that came...

    ID this Sega monitor

This to me looks like a smaller monitor rigged into a 19” frame. Note the small boards attached the the metal frame. The diagonal of the monitor is 15”. I bears a sega part number of S-97245-P
