Mappy & Jr. Pac ... Reunited and it feels so good ...

Yeah, it’s still stored for now. Don’t have enough wall space in my place for more marquee displaying.

Galaga Marquee - originally glass or plastic?

I have a marquee here (but not a machine) and only ever saw it being in plexi. But this thread has me thinking now; as the only Bally/Midway glass marquees I have seen/own are: Spy Hunter (upright and sit down) Mappy (dedicated and conversion) Jr. Pac-man (dedicated and conversion) Up ‘n Down...

WTB: NOS Nintendo VS Instruction cards (Red Tent) - 4 Left to Go!

Look on the backside, you would usually see a strip of a double sided adhesive that is present towards the top side of it.

Seeking Procedure for Cleaning Leaf Switches

Just use a Tumbler that is used with the walnut shells to clean pinball parts. I’m sure they’ll come out pretty nice.

Weird Nintendo VS Dualsystem upright board

It works, but I believe there’s like some speed delays, for example in the animation at the end of the 1-1 world when there are too many things on the screen. At least that’s how it was on mine. So keep it on right side.

Tron3 (aka, Tron: Ares) gets the green light.

Guys, I'm not criticizing anyone for liking the movie or liking the actor. Maybe I'll watch it in spite of the above post of mine when it comes out on digital. Forgetting about the movies, I hope those who own a Tron machine enjoy a few good games today!

Tron3 (aka, Tron: Ares) gets the green light.

Well, I saw small parts of it here and there in reviews and such and I was reading this thread all along - which pretty much sums it up as bad. And it has bombed at the box office. Hey if you guys enjoyed it, good. Hopefully you paid a ticket/fee to watch it and not some sort of online rip...

Tron3 (aka, Tron: Ares) gets the green light.

I haven’t seen the movie. I decided not to bother with it. I think the actor is fine. I think Legacy was great and don’t care that the CG wasn’t perfect in that one. But for this new one, the Hollywood writers don’t have the talent they used to have. I feel they just became complacent once they...

    Arcade artwork for other means.

Interesting. But for your frett design, I would put the Pac-Man in the middle and facing to the right instead, followed by one dot followed by the four blue ghosts and I would put the regular four ghosts on the left chasing Pac-Man.

    Show me your colored (non-black) t-molding :)

Geez, what happened to all the arcade purists?! I had seen orange on a midway cabinet, but didn't know all these other colors were reproduced - which I guess were specifically for this hobby. The green on Galaga looks great.

What's the lifespan of somebody staying in the hobby?

The good: playing these wonderful old beasts and gazing at them with their interesting cabinet shapes and art work. The bad: when a monitor stops working. The ugly: when you got to move a freakin' heavy machine like a Spy Hunter. I've been here longer than most; although I was inactive from...

These games have survived over 40 yrs. Will they make 40 more?

Well, to be honest with M.A.M.E. using the scan lines option and with a newer 2020+ LED monitor with almost no ghosting and no input lag, the games look pretty good. But all I’m saying is if I therefore put that type of monitor that enables some sort of scan lines within a little interface...

These games have survived over 40 yrs. Will they make 40 more?

Like others have said, without CRTs, all this knowledge and tools of keeping everything else fixed and reproduced won’t preserve 80s arcade machines.
