I hope you get Asteroids working. I really am surprised that in doing this for 30 years that you are satisfied with how a LCD looks and responds in an original cab. Those games look really bad on an LCD.

I guarantee that those cheap LCD's would not last nearly as long as a well maintained CRT. Last year I bought 18 19" inch arcade monitors from a guy. 16 of them worked. 1 of them required a 70 cent part to fix it. The cost for all of them... 200 dollars. Your solution is not necessarily...

I own 25+ games. I have 20+ spare monitors. I have fixed a bunch of monitors. I have put exactly 1 on a tube tester. If a monitor looks fine leave it alone.
