That one wasn't mine @greedycrisp, but I appreciate the thought.
Here's a link to a thread about my recreated QIX instruction card.
A scan of my NOS QIX instruction card is here. (scan isn't great, which is why I recreated it).
I am still planning on having a decent repro made. It's taken me...
Here's my recreated QIX instruction card. Same font, same spacing, same size, etc., as far as I can tell. I had the original NOS version side-by-side when I created it. White text, black background, intended to be printed on orange material.
If anyone here finds a better way to repro this...
I tried doing exactly that (orange transparency film with black print), and was disappointed with the results. The black was uneven. That's using a commercial FedEx printer.
Looking at it again: I think I was being too critical. This photo is backlit by sunlight. But it will be backlit by a...
I'm in Philly for my daughter's graduation from UPenn. I flew in direct from San Diego (I was there for work), and the rest of my family arrives tomorrow.
I stopped by Barcade (Center City) this afternoon, and was impressed. I'm into Golden Age games. Tons of classics, and a bunch I haven't...
Back in Halifax, and stopped by the Propeller arcade tonight.
Space Duel is sadly gone. They now have a Baby Pac Man. I haven't seen/played one since 1980-something, so I spent a Loonie playing it tonight. I have to say: it utterly fails as both an arcade game and a pinball game. It's now my...
I saw Computer Space at Canobie Lake park in the mid 70s, so arcade first. Then my uncle Mark's TV-connected Pong (probably from Sears) a few years later (none of the above, I guess). Then Space Invaders in a Pizza Shop in Quincy Center in 1978 (arcade). Followed by Galaxian. Etc., etc.
So...
I was born in 1967. I remember playing Computer Space on a school field trip to Canobie Lake Park in in 1973 or 74. I played Space Invaders at a pizza place in Quincy center in 1978. Played Galaxian at the same place a year or so later (and was blown away). Played Crazy Climber when it first...
It's a flow game. You should always be moving forward and never stand still unless absolutely necessary. I don't find it overly difficulty once you figure out the flow.
I think your comments can be summarized as "I suck at this game, and I can't be bothered to figure out how to play it...
Not accurate, at all. I've owned my Kung-Fu Master cabinet for 20+ years, and it plays smoothly. Running/jumping kicks are key for jumping over the short grunts, while kicking the taller ones behind them.
I wonder if there's a technical issue with your cabinet, PCB, joystick, etc
Wow, a lot of hate for Kung-Fu Master. Great game, IMO. I suspect playing with a 4-way joystick makes it more Zaxxon-ish (my Irem cabinet had an 8-way when I bought it 20+ years ago).
I manually swapped Kung-Fu Master and Moon Patrol PCBs for years, and both were fan favorites at my arcade...
