Here is a piece I cut out from the first non-cut corner control panel I had. Previous owner turned it to Swiss cheese but you can clearly see where they had markings for where you can stamp out the additional buttons in a 2x2 configuration.
I'll never use this control panel but I went ahead and stripped the panel bare and repaired the additional holes made. Just needs a skim coat of Bondo and primer.
