Is David Countryman of Dave's Arcade a member here?

Oh, well, for the record anything I've said negative about a Dave's Arcade in the past is a gent in SoCal. Apologies for any mix-ups.

Any well-known German users that could possibly help me out with a purchase?

Thought I was done buying cabs, but something has come up and hoping to get a hand putting together a deal as well as shipping it. Happy to pay for your help.

    iRobot control panel plastic thickness?

Things are moving right along here at a steady pace. CAD work for the panel's mostly done. Not a large step from there to making a mold in CAD and having that made. Vacuum forming machine's 90% up and going. Heater works, vacuum pump works, raising the table mech works. Only thing I haven't...

    iRobot control panel plastic thickness?

Can anyone take a pair of calipers to their panel and check the thickness in a few spots for me?

Better molded than printed - what sort of plastic parts are we missing in this hobby?

As an aside, I just learned that phase converters rely on the motor to produce the third phase, and that in anything not-a-motor you'd need a rotary phase converter. So.... maybe I need a new electrician. Or he and I were not on the same wavelength as far as what I needed (despite him looking...

Better molded than printed - what sort of plastic parts are we missing in this hobby?

It was really tough looking into these as someone who ISN'T interested in running a motor off of one. Every review, every explanation, every product is specifically aimed at running a motor. I just need to heat some heating elements! And most every person looking to run a three phase shop...

@SCUBA King you never fail to amaze. Thank you so much.

Better molded than printed - what sort of plastic parts are we missing in this hobby?

Of course the datasheet doesn't have a keyed shaft... It has to be easier to get the dimensions off of the pot than to try to get them from inside the gear though for sure. I may send an email to APAR and see if they'd be so kind as to see if they have a different model they're using and if...

Better molded than printed - what sort of plastic parts are we missing in this hobby?

Something easy to start with! I need to find out/look up what pot is used on these to get the key inside the cylinder, but looks pretty alright so far. After that I'll SLA print one to check that it mates with the real one properly and go from there.

Make me feel better - What's the most $$$ and time you lost for a failed pickup

I'd have stood pretty firm in asking to be reimbursed for the gas, at least. Not the seller's fault you don't have a personal van or truck, but it sure as hell is their fault you wasted the gas/time. KLOVer or not, you may want to share what advertised cab this is so no one else ends up in...

Better molded than printed - what sort of plastic parts are we missing in this hobby?

It's very cool. I'd happily start plugging away at putting this into CAD and design a mold if I could get some measurements for sure.

Better molded than printed - what sort of plastic parts are we missing in this hobby?

Yep. That one is a poor design, but it's interesting none-the-less. I had been working towards plans that are this style, which is a lot more like the industrial ones you usually see where the plastic is above and you pull it down over the mold. But the one I purchased is a mold-goes-up...
