Robotron goes blind after a while

At a minimum, I would replace all power molex connectors with Trifurcon connectors. Then eventually make it a goal to replace all the connectors inside the game with Trifurcon. I don't know much...but I do know those original connectors were not very good. A flat connector against a round...

Are you using Trifurcon connectors anywhere inside this machine?

    Mario Bros Very Low Sound

BONUS: do the hum mod on the audio board and eliminate the classic Nintendo background hum.

    Mario Bros Very Low Sound

The monitor is almost guaranteed to be a 20EZ. Volume pot is on the rear of the monitor. You can really only access it from the back door. Sanyos have the audio built into the monitor. If the audio board has never been capped, then it’s time.

Anyone use the braze DKII upgrade ?

I have this kit installed. In fact, I have it double-stacked on top of my DK remix kit. All of your questions can be answered on this page: https://www.mikesarcade.com/cgi-bin/store.pl?sku=HSD2K and... https://www.mikesarcade.com/cgi-bin/store.pl?prod=d2k/d2k.html

Ms. Pacman Cocktail Issues - Garbled screen, controls, sound, and lighting issues

If this game was exposed to moisture, then anything metal inside could (and probably does) have corrosion. Start at power. Original fuse blocks on Pac games are garbage and should be replaced, long term. In the short term, clean them. Keep track of where each fuse goes. Clean the fingers on...

    Q-Bert Project...Help Needed.

So, my opinion will probably be unpopular but here goes: Replace that linear power supply with a switcher. I run original power supplies in all of my games except Qbert. I wouldn’t normally recommend a switcher but for this specific game I would. There is just something fundamentally flawed...

    Q-Bert Project...Help Needed.

Whoa...slow down. :) Post some more pictures and don't take them so up close. Let's see some pictures further back of the whole inside so we can see what is hooked up and where.

    Ms Pac CRT

If you are serious about this hobby and want to work on your own monitors, then I would get rid of that 445. Instead you should buy a 467, 470, 480 or 490. Many people here already use the 467 so there are a ton of recourses and parts available for it. However, I personally own the 470 and...

    Donkey Kong not powering on

How long are you letting the game run before adjusting that V HOLD pot? Couple of things: 1. You could be fighting against yourself each time you turn the game on. You might try letting the game warm up for 5-10 minutes first before adjusting that pot. 2. The pot could be dirty and you can fix...

What pot on the chassis are you adjusting to fix the scrolling?

    Donkey Kong not powering on

Besides the obvious purity issues that you are having, (I would consider just fixing that with a quality handheld degaussing coil) the screen pot on your flyback is too high because your retrace lines are visible. Those white vertical lines and that "blue-ish" background will disappear when you...

    Donkey Kong not powering on

I was literally just about to say that your degaussing coil is probably the issue. In fact, didn't I recommend earlier in this thread to disconnect it? I forget.
