All the hs-9 that I have come across had the double 60 watt common light bulb fixture. I usually replaced with a LED cabinet light so it is easier on the backlit material over the long term.

I've been able to do these style CPOs a handful of times. Usually I sand them completely down and use black satin or semigloss spray paint. Once it dries, I go in and apply the CPO and go in with a new exacto knife to trim it off. Angle is important because you could dig back into the paint...

I got mine from a warehouse raid from a Dragon's Lair Cabinet conversion that was gutted. Wondering how I can help with this. Only thing is, I'm not 100% certain mine is original. It fits in the spot, but it cuts off the tube on the left and right slightly.

I would second this. My HS2 was a Final Fight originally. I would say HS1 and HS2 with flat front control panels were much more likely to have a Final Fight kit vs HS5 or bigger. Although... a Showcase dedicated Final Fight would be amazing. Especially if it was the fan made 3 player version...

You can get something like this and run the lead out the back of the cabinet. Run it in addition to the existing light fixture. In some of my games, I have replaced the burned out light fixture with a standard AC Led fixture from walmart. Here's a video for below on replacing the existing fixture
