Willie Wonka (Elaut) Looking for replacement MB

The EMOS system will flash the board automatically when you power it up. The red and green leds on the board will blink differently while the board is being flashed. If you interrupt power while updating it can also brick the board.

Willie Wonka (Elaut) Looking for replacement MB

Any short or overload on the 12v line will fry a surface mount resistor on the XY board. I don't remember the designation off the top of my head, it is on the long side of the board, there is a short black 6 (or 8?) pin connector. The resistor is right along side it. You need to replace it with...

Coin Pusher Ticket dispenser control board issue, 8 Sided Elvis Coin pusher

Did you peel the label off of U1 to see if it has an ID ? The later Cromptons pushers used PIC microcontrollers on the sub-boards and the ones I came across didn't have the fuses blown so I could read them and make duplicates.

    Willy Wonka 2PL

The problem is then most likely those EMOS controllers. There is a flash memory chip that goes bad causing strange things to happen. It's a constant occurrence in their Intraxion controllers with meters going crazy. The early Wonkas had loads of software bugs. Everytime they sent us an...

    Willy Wonka 2PL

Wait, are the meters pulsing on only one station? If that's the case then I'd lean towards a harness issue.

Holy crap ! I didn't know any of those still existed. That's one of the early models that used the "Engineering Mistake On Site" controller. We sold (Elaut USA) a dozen and a half or so in the beginning and they all got returned. I redesigned the machine with new hardware and software to make...

    Free KiCad: Universal JAMMA Edge

I think the video ground should be connected to ground or at least its own terminal since most existing harnesses will have that pin wired to the video section of the harness going to the monitor. Either way, thank you for this.

    Schematic for Happ Gun tester?

This may be helpful if you have a scope... I just connect 5 volts to the gun PCB and put the output on an oscilloscope. I shine a bright LED flashlight at the sensor, and the output will display a square wave varying in size based on how close the light is to the sensor. No square wave, no...

Atari POKEY Chips Failing more often these days???

I consider myself very lucky. I service 4 retro arcades, and here's the list of what we have. Our first location opened in 2011. I've had only one Pokey fail since then. APB (2) Asteroids Deluxe (2) Battle Zone (1) Centipede (4) Championship Sprint (1) Crystal Castles (1) Gauntlet (2) Gauntlet...

    Another Tempest 6100 problem

Just a follow up, I finally found some time to get back to this. I ended up shotgunning Q603,Q604,Q703 and Q704. They tested fine in a transistor tester but looks like one was failing under a load.
