This particular unit was caked in tar. The monitor had a solid 1/8" coating of tar. Dirtiest monitoe I've stumbled across and I haven't even pulled the chassis yet.

Cleaned up and inspected the board. Surprisingly all the caps are in good shape, definitely didn't expect that. Haven't re-pasted the CPU yet but cpu temps are good at 45-50c after some play time. Will take a peek at the ram.

So I learned today that the cooling error message only displays in attract mode. Game operates normally otherwise.

So I am attempting to alter the fan control settings to see if it will get rid of the cooling warning. Looking in bios at fan control it shows disabled and doesn't allow a change. When I attempt to enter hardware monitoring the bios locks up. Ideas?

This one is a D865glc. It boots up fine but quickly gets the temp error on screen. Ill likely give the jumpers a go and see what happens. Still digging around looking for an inexpensive mobo replacement. Very few d865 boards around and for some reason people believe they are worth $300+
