The game sequence in the movie was definitely created just for the movie. You can also see how all of the normal game stats are missing on the screen (like score, wave, bullets, etc.).

You're definitely right on that fact. Thanks for the confirmation. Guess I'll have to work on creating a custom animation like that and figure out how to display that on the monitor on demand...maybe with a switcher. Always something to work on!

I wound up buying a working orange gun and a broken black gun and swapped the shells/insides. I might have an extra working gun shortly...just have to fix up the broken one.

Good point about the graphics. I'll have to study that scene some more. I haven't played the game long enough to see if it's possible to get to that "Crackshot" scene either. The PC-10 version appears to be identical to the NES version.. Could this have been a Famicon version and not a NES...

I had a couple questions about the monitor placement in the cabinet. I used a normal Nintendo monitor with horizontal brackets, but I moved the alignment holes to get the more upright appearance -- which seems to work great for the light gun games. Here are a few photos that show the stock...

I don't know for certain, but I believe that they wanted the game to have a cowboy/old west theme to it -- to foreshadow the upcoming Part III movie -- and the eventual great line by Marty when asked where he learned to shoot like that: "[at the] Seven-Eleven"

Here's a behind the scenes photo that shows it was actually just a TV screen used in the movie. Figured you guys would enjoy it. Unfortunately resolution isn't that great because this was clipped from an overall photo of the Café 80s.

That's a great way to mimic those buttons. If I make a second one (which I might), that might be the way I go. I plan to use this one for various DeLorean shows and events we host, but I figure I should have a nice one for the house as well!

Thanks! I had the gun holster custom made at a local cowboy/western apparel store. Had to purchase a leather holster and then their tailor modified it with white stitching, buckle, etc...it's not 100% perfect, but it works for now!
