    TMNT sound issues

Update: I ended up getting a new board. The loud volume still seems to be at thing so I suppose that was unrelated. It could have to do with the fact that I put this in a Simpsons cab with a 4 way RiddledTV switcher, which does mean going from stereo to mono out of one speaker. Or maybe this is...

    TMNT sound issues

I got so excited to post that I fixed it! I just ran it for about 40 minutes in attract mode and it started looping that sound effect again like in the video.

    TMNT sound issues

I pulled the board out to do one more visual inspection, and noticed the soldering around the 640khz resonator really was pretty suspect and not giving me good continuity readings. In particular, X1 looked to have both pads busted. On one side it had some of the trace scraped off, but the solder...

    TMNT sound issues

Thanks guys, I wasn't going to mess with the long thin custom whatevers in the yellow squares, just genuinely curious what they were. Visually, the joints seem fine around the resonators although I can tell they were replaced or worked on at some point. I'm going to get this back to irepairsega...

    TMNT sound issues

Random noob questions: 1. What cap is this in the red square? I couldn't find it's number (I suppose it's under the sticker). Is this just a regular electrolytic cap? 2. What are the long components in the yellow rectangles?

    TMNT sound issues

Do you know what that is off the top of your head? For context, I can solder and I've fixed up a few monitors, but this is the first game I've worked on. I'm finding it tricky to work with this board, even just replacing the caps. Why are the traces so small?

    TMNT sound issues

I found a few threads on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sound issues, but mine seem a bit different so I figured I'd start a new one. I'll try to be as detailed as possible. I got a TMNT PCB and hooked it up with a switcher in my Simpsons cab. When I first powered it on I was getting some scratchy...

Wire remote switch for new power supply

Yeah it is odd, and took me a while to understand. Thanks for your help!

Wire remote switch for new power supply

I think you may have swapped Live and Neutral. If you wire them the other way the rear door and top switch would cut off the live input.

Wire remote switch for new power supply

Also found this diagram in the manual for the machine, with no text explanation. Turns out this is a "remote switch" which is a feature of the power supply. It allows you to turn the power supply on or off based on a signal to this 4 pin connector. It runs to an interlock switch on the back of...

Wire remote switch for new power supply

I have a Simpsons 4 player Konami cabinet with a dead power supply. The old supply had a 4 pin molex connector with blue, brown, white, and black wires that run up to a remote switch. I was wondering how I would wire my new/modern power supply to the old connector.
