B&K 467 repair info and resistor iden

Im gonna update my own thread here years after....i opened it back up because when setting the cutoffs the red level raises when i adjust green and blue. I did the flowchart from the service manual. All parts it says to check were either already replaced before or tested working as it should. I...

    Identity this Chassis

I was thinking a Kortek myself when seeing the pic. The KTM makes me think even more. Lots of korteks are like KT-xxxx. This might be an earlier Kortek. Ill keep looking

    Gauntlet Legends wells k7500

Yea thats an original flyback. I won't be able to work on it for a few months due to other obligations but I will fix this later this year. So flyback screen pot drifting! Thanks @mecha! All fail the same way, ugh. Yea, sounds like a design defect. Appreciate the assistance, always nice to get...

    Gauntlet Legends wells k7500

Normal picture when working Then it looks like this randomly until a power cycle(game still running as normal with audio the entire time). I turned off the lights in the room otherwise you can barely see anything. Here is a video of power cycling the crt to restore the image.

    Gauntlet Legends wells k7500

Got an interesting issue. I have not pulled the chassis yet to inspect but wanted to out out a feeler to see if anyone has experienced this before. I have suspicions and it will definitely need caps as it has not been serviced previously. Game boots and works fine. At certain random times the...

    Where’s the H Hold on this K7300 Tovis/Happ Vision Pro model MTG-1901CN

@jjhudgins How about you fix my Kortek KT 2914f? This happened to it today: I think its just dirt. Ill just clean it and toss it back in 🤣 Edit: For anyone curious, I already know what happened. The Scan HOT current transformer finally failed on this one. Cant get that part as its been...

    Wells Gardner K4600 Restoration

Well....I see youre missing the 2 parallel mounted daughterboards. This chassis will not fully function without them. I think I see the bracket on your desk that holds them in position. Do you have these boards or is that all you have on your desk?

    25k7197 monitor curl

Be careful poking around in there. Especially if you just started learning about these things. A monitor tube can hold a charge for quite a long time after being unplugged. Ive been zapped by monitors I even had discharged! That component in the lower left corner is a small transformer. It...

Have you ever calibrated your rejuvenator?

You're confused! Everything is worth at LEAST 600% over MSRP now. For example, I wanted an N64 game, Zelda Ocarina of Time. They sold 7.6 million copies of this game. So clearly it is EXTREMELY RARE OOP NOS BRB SMH. Someone was selling it for 90 bucks on FleaBay. I thought, thats ridiculous...

Have you ever calibrated your rejuvenator?

Heres a good example of what the rejuvenator can do. I have a BK467. I had to repair it with caps and everything as it had all the issues mentioned here. Anyways, I bought a ddr extreme that was in storage for a WHILE. The picture came up but was dull and not bright. I decided to check the gun...

Kortek Kt-2914DF SCT-82D Scan transformer findings

Ok. When working on a Kt-2914df, the part that comes up surrounded in mystery is the SCT-82D scan transformer. It is a current transformer that tends to go bad on these chassis and they have not been available for some time now. They have been notoriously difficult to troubleshoot due to lack...

Kortek Monitors Tips,Tricks and Cap Kits

UPDATE from previous post! I have fixed the monitor chassis. No more scan hot pops. As I was afraid of it was the scan transformer stressing out the scan hot. I also believe I found some sort of specifications to help determine if the scan transformer is good or not. Youll need an LCR meter to...

Discharging monitor without removing from cab

I totally agree. I use a BK HV44A. B&K Precision HV44A High Voltage Probe Meter, 0 to +40KV DC https://a.co/d/hIroUn4 I also am with @tron guy on changing the flyback. He is right. Typically on this model chassis if you replace the electrolytics, change the flyback as there could be...

Kortek Monitors Tips,Tricks and Cap Kits

Ok @Ohmerone . So i am continuing the chassis from months ago. Im really at a loss why this is shorting out Scan Hots at Q712. I am using the J6820 as the Scan Hot. The chassis will produce an image which looks fine. Now, i can get the image for sometimes hours, sometimes 15 minutes. It always...

Kortek Monitors Tips,Tricks and Cap Kits

Hey! A bit late to the party. In the vertical circuit, check the resistors around the vertical IC to make sure they are in spec. You did a complete cap kit? So make sure none are reverse polarity. Also check out the poly caps near the vertical and horizontal area. I have worked on 2 of these...

Xmen dedicated image out of sync at top

Assuming it is a k7000 series youll probably want to adjust your 50/60hz. When the horiz and vert "fight each other" a little youll get that curl. Of course there might be other things causing that but adjusting your 50/60 pot on the main chassis should fix that. Heres a picture of what it looks...
