    Trouble with my Black Hole

I'm assuming George means Retro Chip Tester. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I think he means RCT... https://americanretro.shop/rctp/

    Howdy from Ontario

Of course you know I'm referring to the only real Hamilton. Who TF has even heard of Hamilton City, CA?? If I can't get there by the 401/403, it doesn't exist. :)

    Trouble with my Black Hole

Peter @ APAR still has the original 2n6059 transistor. Most of the 6284's you'll find are fake. But the original 6059 is OEM design, and will likely last for another 30+ years. https://www.arcadepartsandrepair.com/store/integrated-circuits/misc-chips/2n6059/

    Turkey Shoot trivia

Here's some trivia... If Clint Eastwood directs the movie, you get a 2 player co-op version with revolvers... :) And with Sam Rockwell, no less... Lol.

    Tron spinner rough rotation

I think you could agree there is a significant difference between bushings being used in aircraft applications, and that of an arcade spinner that is non-load bearing and you basically are just looking for the least amount of resistance possible. Guess what Oilite has to say about lubrication...

The Arcade Moment I’ll Never Forget

Well, it was mostly Double Dragon for us. Probably double-something else for them... :) But this pizza place also had a Super Dodge Ball, which I've never seen anywhere else since. Come to think of it, my friend's sister was most likely playing dodge ball, too....

The Arcade Moment I’ll Never Forget

My best friend and I were in 8th grade. His older sister was a senior and had a '85 Dodge Daytona (still love that car), that her dad bought when it was just about 3 years old. She would drive us into the pizza/arcade place in town a few times every week, but it was mostly because she had a...

    Tron spinner rough rotation

Not sure, George.. I've never liked white grease with oilite bushings. It can get tacky and accumulate dust/debris. I've found that very light oil works better with the bronze bushings. Even 3-in-1 is a bit heavy. I actually use sewing machine oil.

    Tron spinner rough rotation

I've seen 2 styles of Tron spinners. I believe the early version was the one with the large encoder disk, and a later version with a smaller one. Not really sure why that is? Regardless, both just have a single bronze bushing under the knob. There is no lower bushing like a Tempest spinner...

Got ripped off by a change machine today

No kidding. I grew up not that far from Sault Ste. Marie. Having a Canadian quarter in your pocket was not uncommon as a kid in the 70's/80's. Gas stations and grocery stores would take them, no problem. But they would usually pass them back out to the next customer. Kinda like the $2 bill...

    Centipede Cabaret Qs

I hear ya... A friend of mine that lived in Windsor, ON moved into a new house there and found 2 old arcade cabinets stored under the front porch. Robotron and Joust cocktails. Yep. My buddy brought them back over to me and asked if I could "restore" them. Man, I wish I had pictures of what...

    Centipede Cabaret Qs

Oh, a transplant. Nicely done, not many folks would take the time (or have the know-how) to do that. Building a replica cabinet from scratch isn't super easy, and takes a bit of time. I've only done a couple that way. Very well done!
