Lucked into home use only k7000 chassis and tube got a few questions

Pictures of everything you are asking about are a necessity to help you properly. As long as you have the yoke wires paired correctly you can't do damage to anything but might wind up with an upside down or sideways image initially. Post pics and be certain of the rest before you power that...

    13” Kortek Green/ Color Issues

Cheap shit wire, bad crimp, burned connector pin...? I had a stick that wouldn't fire left consistently in my Williams Multi (which somehow made me suck even more at Robotron) and it was a shitty factory crimp in the NEW harness. Sanity check with meter while wiggling or just shotgun the whole...

Using convergence rings on different tubes.

You'll be starting fresh with purity and convergence as it is so you just need a ring set that fits the tube really. That and a stack of adjustment strips too I imagine.

    Ken Layton has passed away

It is a unique person who can outdo an expansive knowledge base with an even greater generosity of their time. And all of it so humbly and politely. Absolute legend that gentleman. Helped me more than once when he was still with us and even now a few times after he no longer was.

New APAR Amplifone "G" flyback install on Dezbez HV boards.

Looks like you're getting a great image out of that setup. Nicely done!

    I found one! A tube for a 19k7000!

The particular tube becomes almost irrelevant as long as the yoke and neckboard fit. I went for a year struggling in looking for compatible tubes and then suddenly a bunch appeared. Keep at it and they will materialize. The key to good swapping is -Keep the original yoke with the chassis -Keep...

    I found one! A tube for a 19k7000!

If you get a good piece of 3/4" plywood you can make what you need and not drastically alter the cabinet. I can direct you to a bunch of solutions I've come up with if you want. Would still look for a 19" tube to swap that yoke to though. What chassis do you have there?

    I found one! A tube for a 19k7000!

Probably will not fit an existing frame. Do you have an original cabinet with no monitor? Maybe you can find a recycling center somewhere within reasonable driving distance if tubes aren't popping up on fb marketplace, craigslist, etc? You could contact them and ask about a discarded 19" TV...

Hey'all monitor repair wizards! Hints on universal repair component list?

And as per usual, this is just awesome- thanks Mike!

Hey'all monitor repair wizards! Hints on universal repair component list?

I have two carts at the moment actually, one with vector monitor projects and one with a bartop cab project and other parts. Hadn't occurred to me to just put my transformer/power supply block on there! Then I could mount a mirror on the wall and wheel it around for tuning. Thanks for the...

Hey'all monitor repair wizards! Hints on universal repair component list?

Hey Del! I actually have that very same bench supply (which needs a rebuild it appears.) Have the other tools of which you speak also and I couldn't agree more about Master @zenomorp He is one of the "amateurs" to whom I refer in post one. He and Randy are the ones most responsible for me no...

Hey'all monitor repair wizards! Hints on universal repair component list?

Appreciate the reply! Seems like Mr. Fromm would have been carrying around a portable kit of SOMEthing that would allow him to fix many if not most things in his hurdy-gurdy travels spreading the joy and teaching. Kind of why I'm thinking what I'll come up with might be a by the chassis...

Hey'all monitor repair wizards! Hints on universal repair component list?

I know there are a number of you who are pros repairing games as a regular job (and also a few who claim amateur status but are absolute monsters at repair) and the more I read Randy Fromm's Big Blue and Green books the more it seems to me that there COULD be a fairly (although maybe pretty...

Atari Road burners neotech nt-2702 video monitor inputs

If I am reading the manual correctly that DB15 plug is the only video signal in port for a 2702. How about a picture of that video card and its signal output harness/cable?

Found a good site with a ton of Sencore monitor tech tips

A treasure trove really. Can someone smarter than me capture that whole thing as pdfs or somethin? It should get loaded into the tech section in perpetuity I would think.

What monitor is this? Sharp Image

Probably need to pull it to figure it out. They usually have a model nunber on that flyback shield/heatsink and/or printed on the board. Often built to have a harness to plug in where that adjustment board is stuck right now too.

Are there schematics for the Fred K/ Shilmover XY kits?

I tried that a few years ago and sadly got no reply.

Are there schematics for the Fred K/ Shilmover XY kits?

I have one set that keeps blowing a fuse on one side and hoped to find the same thing for a few years now. I recall being told it is the same as the original Amp except smaller and mostly surface mount components. I haven't looked closely at the whole thing but the area I was concerned with...

    k4900 / k5515 toasted goodness!

Yeah, those resistors need to be cooled, either actively with a fan maybe or passively by mounting to a block of aluminum? I have two toasty 4900s myself and have been wondering what to do about that VERY warm corner.
