I know you can buy "unlock" sets for $40 that include a 6800 chip and a few of the eeproms
Can't i just use any 6800 and program those same eeproms myself?
I bought a "Bad" Outrun board on ebay. and mix and matched parts and i now have a working Outrun board.
A) Turbo outrun (my original set)
B) Outrun (from ebay)
Used B Rom's from video and CPU boards
Used A Main board
Used B Video board
Funny thing was the B (ebay) board didn't have a...
Just re-verified all EPR and OPR chips with my GQ-4x programmer. They all checkout fine. Have re-seated each chip with DeOx...

Sorry i think there was a misunderstanding. The chip that doesn't Verify against the MAME roms i have is EPR-12293. which when i romident it i get "681b2254 NOT FOUND"
But when i romident a few other roms from the game board it does ID them properly. Guess i need to order a 27512 chip...
Actually the MPR chips on the Turbo outrun board read and verified using a "27512" setting...
I have tested every Eprom on both board and one come back bad.. "EPR-12293" its an intel 27512.
Now this board still has the FD1094 317 chip with a updated battery. Can i just replace the EPR...
S0 This is an upright game. But i'm not sure it's the original board. how do i tell which romset i have so i can compare rom's on board to a mame romset
So i plugged in my DK monitor and it is fine so the problem is not with the Popeye board.
The DK monitor is a 20" and the cocktail monitor is 19" so i can swap.
I replace t204again to to make sure wasn't a bad part. same issues.. any other thoughts.
