Need help capping Wurlitzer 545 amp

I've reached the limit of my ability in trying to recap a Wurlitzer 545 amp and am looking to hire someone who is able to help me finish the job. I have all the capacitors and got about half installed (the easy half on the PCB) but that's about as far as I can get. (Too much of the wiring...

    Best rates for truck rentals

Enterprise Cargo Van I've had pretty good luck with renting cargo vans from Enterprise. There's no milage charge and you can get the van for an entire weekend (pick up Friday night return by Monday morning) for about $150 in the Washington DC metro area. The only downside is that since it's...

The battle to keep the basement dry...share your story

DriCore tiles are your friend If you've got 7/8" of ceiling height to spare and are willing to spend about $1.50/sq ft. DriCore tiles are great for a subfloor. I put them in my basement and it is perfectly dry. A couple of other nice perqs are that it keeps the basement floor a little...

    Wurlitzer 2800 Basics

I've just picked up my first jukebox, a Wurlitzer 2800. I've just started cleaning it and figuring out what works and what doesn't, and I've got a few beginninger's questions. 1) Can anyone recommend a good source for a service manual? It looks like they aren't available for download...

If you had $15k to spend, what would you get?

Here's the scenario. You've just won $15,000 and you have to spend it on arcade machines. Assuming you don't already have any, what would you buy? (Use reasonable market estimates. No fair listing $1 EDOT's.) Personally, I'd go with a mix of classics and personal favorites from 1983-1986...

    Return of the Jedi pics?

Could somebody with a RotJ cabinet in good condition take some pictures for me? Ideally, I'm looking for good pics of these: Blue border around monitor Instructions card below monitor Graphic overlay on yoke (especially the two pieces that wrap around the yoke. i.e. not the non-'Atari' sides)...

    Arnie's Arcade in Milford, CT

Yeah, the encased games weren't for everybody, but look on the bright side. Think of the minty side art on Jordan's Marble Madness and all the other games that never had bored teenagers trying to peel the side art off waiting for their turn to play.

    Arnie's Arcade in Milford, CT

Did somebody call me? As KLOV's resident obsessive complusive about Arnie's Place, I'm working on the only known tribute site to Arnie's Place. http://www.arniesplacearcade.com I'm always looking for material. Memories of Arnie's, games you remember being there, anything at all. I've got a...

Survey: Wiener Distributing in Baltimore MD

Put me in that camp, too. With a M-F operation, I'd probably never be able to visit unless I was already in the area and off from work. Being opening on Saturday once a month or at least once every other month would make it possible for me to visit on a regular basis. And I rarely leave...

Red Tent Owners in Washington DC area?

Is there anyone in the DC area (Nova or MD suburbs) that has a Nintendo red tent that they would allow me to take measurements of and take some pictures? It's for a 3D modeling project. It shouldn't take more than 30 minutes or so to get what I need. Please PM me if you'd be willing to...

    Make Trax Cabinet height?

I've got a real quick question that I can't seem to find an answer for anywhere else. Is a dedicated Make Trax cabinet about 4-6" taller than a standard cabinet from the time period? I know that's a little subjective, but if you had a lineup of some early 80s classics like Burger Time, Jungle...

    Arnie's Place in Westport, CT

Progress Update Since there are a few people here that are interested in my Arnie's Place project, I figured I'd post a like to the work in progress. Both the site and the 3D model of Arnie's need a LOT of work, but there's enough there to give you an idea of what they will eventually be like...

    Help me ID these games

And we're back. In Mystery Cabs2, I am hoping somebody can recognize the game the woman is playing. It appears to have some art along the front of the control panel that looks similar to the marquee. The marquee appears to be at an angle as well. (Bonus points if anybody has a clue as to the...

    Help me ID these games

Forgive me for bumping an ancient thread, but I could use some help in ID'ing the games in the attached pictures. In Mystery Cabs1, I am hoping somebody will have better luck recognizing the marquee on the cabinet on the left than I will. It looks like the name is written in script and starts...

    MACH 3 (Q*bert) PS problem

PS pic is attached. From the schematics, the +5V section looks identical to a Q-bert PS right down to the component numbers (ie Q11 is the same on both, so is R12, etc) I believe the MACH 3 PS has some additional circuits to generate other voltages that Q-bert may not use. Thanks for your help!

    MACH 3 (Q*bert) PS problem

The voltage coming into the board is supposed to be 11.5V DC but it measures as 15V (a very stable 15.00V in fact) I measured the same value across the resistor on the 50K uF capacitor. I guess this is telling me to stop messing with the power supply board and start looking at the bridge...

    MACH 3 (Q*bert) PS problem

I finally got a chance to fire up the multimeter and I think I'm dealing with a resistor problem in the +5V circuit. The other voltages coming off the board (+12, -12 and +20V) are all reasonably close to the correct values. (+20V is really about 18.9V) The +5V output is dead. I tested the...

    MACH 3 (Q*bert) PS problem

I am having a problem with the 5V portion of my MACH 3's power supply. Since the 5V portion of the MACH 3 power supply is exactly the same as a Q*Bert (and probably most of the other Gottleib/Mylstar games) I was hoping that somebody here might have some suggestions. I've tried replacing the...

    Help me ID these games

I could use some help identifying the games in these photos. I've gotten a decent number of them but on some of them the marquees are too small to see anything. (Heck, some of them the cabinet is barely visible.) I'm hoping that somebody can help ID the games from the cabinet shape or...
