I have no experience with this, so it might not work, but you might want to look into Vinyl Dye. It's supposed to get into the material and dye it, not sit on top like a coat of paint.

The TV has composite input. There is a hooked up NES hiding behind the TV. (The TV might actually have Y/C input as well (AKA s-video) split into two cables, because of the two RCA inputs under the TV section, but I don't have one of those cables to fully test it.)
