I beg to differ. With the backs off you are allowing fresh air intake. In addition to that 99% of my cabs have vented handles (All Nintendos, Bally Midway, etc.). With the backs off the heat DOES dissipate alot better then adding a little fan! IMHO To do a fan set up properly you'd need to...

I take the backs off mine and store them in my garage. My games are about 2" from the wall. I believe this is better for cooling then a fan (hack).
