My friend adjusted it for me before I came and picked it up, but he didn't say anything about it was weird, so i'm assuming it was an easy adjustment. Hopefully everything goes easy when you work on yours too!

So guess what, It DID end up being the VHOLD! Can you believe it? It needed a little tweak on that and now it works great! So excited that it didn't need some more crazy work done to it. Thanks again for all the help and suggestions from everyone here!

Great idea! I will definitely try that, everything else I've tried on it so far has all been via RGB. Unless things change, I think i'm picking it up tomorrow at some point. Thanks for all the ideas guys, I really appreciate it!

Yes, that flickering was what made me suspect it needed a recap. Savon-Pat seemed to think his cap kit would fix it, unfortunately it didn't. Some other people on the PVM group on FB seem to think I should try adjusting the VHOLD and maybe that will fix it. My friend is going to try that out...

Aside from never working on a PVM before this, I'm not really sure, but I know he's busy and has a lot going on these days. I don't want to push my luck, I'm so grateful he was even able to spend time doing this recap for me.

@ArcadeTechGW If the flickering stops on bright games after it's been on for 10-15 min, do you still think it might be a power issue?

Nice collection! I've never messed with a BVM, but have really loved this PVM and just don't want it to die on me. I'm in Berkley (Near Royal Oak area). I have a few Japanese candy cabs in addition to this PVM, but I am quite a novice with fixing monitor issues.

Thanks for the reply! The NES is hooked up via RGB, but it also does this behavior on bright games if I hook up a MiSTer to it too (also via RGB). Then if I leave the PVM turned on for a bit, and go back and play the same games they will work fine.
