  1. Daytona usa reset high score Leader lamp no work

Re: Daytona usa reset high score Leader lamp no work I've got my twin torn apart right now in the garage... when I get home and get a chance to look at it tonight or tomorrow I can trace the wire for you. From the schematics it looks like it feeds into a relay that's connected to the...
  2. Nanao MS8-26 monitor blowing HOT

This is a new thread since my previous thread (Daytona Twin issues) had mostly been solved and morphed into a new thread. I want to say thanks to everyone that's helped me so far and a big huge I-owe-you-several-beers thank you goes to VectorJunkie for lending a hand in person with this one...
  3. Sega Daytona Twin issues

Special thanks to Vectorjunkie for coming out and helping... no doing this repair! Class act! All testing yeilded 0.0 or OL on Q901 and Q533. Replaced Q901 and Q533 with new transistors. Monitor came on but with a white line across the middle so there was a collapse. You could see the...
  4. X Men Six Player $180

Yea we've been talking over email about issues... I had a nerdgasm when I saw that collection. Still gives me shivers to see it again.
  5. X Men Six Player $180

That's a freakin deal right there as long as you have the real estate to hold something like that. This coming from a guy with a Daytona twin though.
  6. Sega Daytona Twin issues

Thanks for all the help guys... VJ I may take you up on your offer. I pulled the chassis today of the monitor and the anode cap was only connected with one prong. I fixed that but that didn't help. The bottom of the chassis is definitely showing some repair work as there is some sloppy...
  7. Sega Daytona Twin issues

some more info... All boards are checked and verified. Only had to replace the amp. Monitor is still being goofy. Replace the 2amp and it pops the 6.3amp. Replace the 6.3 and it pops the 2. For some reason it was configured as low res instead of med res. Switched it and still nothing...
  8. Uggg - everything wrong about a Mame machine

That's a man. ...and that cab is pretty cool looking. Very simple and clean.
  9. Mesquite, TX SuperAuction August 16th

Nice! I wish I could have met up with you to school you on some sega racing! I did see a SEGA Harley Davidson almost fall on someone's wife while playing... the guy just BARELY caught it. It looked like the upright portion was only connected to the base with one bolt on either side creating a...
  10. T-Molding

You can do the same thing with gorilla glue. Once it hardens into foam run a solt cutter down it on a router and voila... simple fix. Bondo would be the obvious fix though. Mine is just kind of hacky but it works well.

Schematics found! http://technical-department.servegame.com/monitor_schematic_diagrams/nanao/ms8schematic.jpg If this is true, then I need a 3amp fuse, not a 2amp fuse like the one that is in the working cabinet. I wonder why the working side was working with a 2amp?
  12. Sega Daytona Twin issues

I'm still hunting for schematics... the only thing that I can find right now is the correct photo/model # of my board. This is definitely the little guy that's giving me issues. Fuse is on the right in the middle.
  13. Sega Daytona Twin issues

I was looking for 125 or 250... I remembered that from HS electronics class (who would have thought). Fry's was a complete mess in their fuse department... stuff was all mixed in and not where it should have been. I'll give it another whirl next time and also try the 'zone.
  14. Sega Daytona Twin issues

Very odd findings tonight. Looks like when I swapped the 2amp fuses between monitors, it blew that fuse as well (should have known that was going to happen)... so now I'm fuseless. There is another fuse up from the board that is a 125v 6.3amp fuse that is fine. What can be done to bring the...
  15. Mesquite, TX SuperAuction August 16th

OUCH! Screw all that mess! What did the two daytona 2 cabs go for? They're were individual cabinets... the bright yellow ones. I was going to bid on those but won the daytona twin.
  16. Mesquite, TX SuperAuction August 16th

I didn't see how much it went for. The game wouldn't boot and one of the monitors had a bright white (looked like an old vector game) line going across it for a few hours.
  17. Sega Daytona Twin issues

PSU was showing 5.5vDC on cab #2. I brought this back down to 5.00vDC and still not getting any monitor activity or sound activity. The drive board is showing the steering movement (middle is "80" and shows proper extents). I'm guessing the VR buttons could be a filter board issue as long as...
  18. Sega Daytona Twin issues

I picked up a Daytona twin at the Dallas Superauction on saturday. One side (we'll call it side #1 is fully working) and side #2 is exhibiting some unusual behavior. Side #1 is the side with the plug. Everything powers up fine and the game starts immediately. The bios is set to "single" and...
