Newbie button question - leaf to microswitch

Microswitch Wiring Timbo, the contact that is on the top of the microswitch unit has a 90 degree bend in it. This is the common (COM) or ground contact. The black wire needs to be connected to this one. The next one down, should be the "NO" or nominally open contact. The colored wire which...

    Crystal Castles Monitor Issue

I don't have another monitor to try out. I'll try cleaning and reseating the chips when I have time. I just think its strange that everything else works fine.

    Crystal Castles Monitor Issue

I just put a brand new WG monitor in my Crystal Castles cocktail. The game coins up, plays, has sound, etc... The problem is, I'm getting horizontal lines across the screen (see attachment link above). It's like only half the picture is showing up. The attached picture is lousy, but conveys the...

Gauntlet Legends monitor - how much to replace?

Re: Gauntlet Legends monitor - how much to replace? Wells Gardner lists this one: http://www.wgec.com/products/details.asp?sPartNum=WGM2794-U0TS40E It is listed as a replacement for Guantlet Legends on the WG Support page. It would be much cheaper to just fix it. That is, if it can be fixed. I...

Need Advice on Buying Major Havoc

I've seen one for sale locally. The seller can arrange the shipping for you. Check out http://www.myarcaderepair.com/forsale/inventory.php If you scroll down you'll see that there is a Major Havoc listed. I have no idea if it is a dedicated machine or a conversion. The outfit is owned by Sarah...

Robotron Cocktail Repairman in Chicagoland area

Re: Robotron Cocktail Repairman in Chicagoland area Do you have any game sounds when you power this thing up? If you tossed a new monitor in an otherwise healthy machine, then you may have a simple issue that is holding you up. Post an update, and maybe you can be walked through this problem...

    Monitor Color Issue

Yeah, check out your local T.V. repair outfits. Also check the yellow pages for coin op distributor and repair outfits too. Remember that tube T.V.s are sometimes disposable items, but arcade monitors are almost always designed to be repaired. Thats why you can still find parts for units that...

Anyone ever ordered anything from here?

I got a Double Dragon overlay from them, and I'm happy with it. It wasn't a lousy inkjet reproduction. The overlay arrived perfectly flat and well packed. I would recommend them. The only downside is that you have to cut the joystick and button holes yourself. Its easy, but it takes while.

    Button light question

A lot of these poker and black jack type machines use a separate transformer to send 12v to the button lights. Its similar your typical monitor isolation transformer. You may have something funky going on there. Then again, you may have a board that controls the lights. If thats the case...

    Xmen Sound Question

I hate to reply with the generic "check the voltages" advice, but it's worth a shot if you haven't already. From what I've read, the Konami boards use a custom IC for the sound. They can get grumpy if you don't have the voltage just right (happened with my X-Men board). You should check out...

    1968 SEGA Helicopter Game

I think I have seen this game in storage locally before. Do you have a partially complete example of this game? If so, can you post some pics so that I can have a reference point? I'm sure I can get in touch with the owner of this game (if we are talking about the same thing).

anyone have a source for parts for Daytona USA?

Re: anyone have a source for parts for Daytona USA? First, I would find the nearest Betson distributor at www.betson.com. You can give the distributor a buzz and see what they can do for you. There are pantload of those things still in service. So, I would imagine that most parts are still...

    rolling thunder player 2

Rolling Thunder alternates players. That is, it only uses one set of buttons and one joystick. When the first player croaks, the second player takes over using the same controls as player 1. If the "cocktail" dipswitch is activated you can use a second set of controls, but the screen will flip...

    PCB's in other cabinets???

Generally, most games can be converted to JAMMA and played in a JAMMA wired cabinet with no problems. Similarly, some older cabinets i.e. Galaga, Pac Man, etc.. can accept JAMMA boards with the appropriate modifications such as a switching power supply, and a JAMMA adapter. That being said...
