It looks like the Red Box is not being made anymore. Also it was hard drive based, which makes me a little more worried. That may be an answer though, I was hoping to find a solution that was still being made.

About the 18 in 1 CPS2 boards: I have one and I mentioned in the post - it is basically a pile of garbage. They were hit and miss over the production run - they do not even make them anymore. I got a used one that was supposed to be good - I have never gotten it to work correctly.
