I used Super Lube on my Donkey Kong joystick. Thin layer has lasted years with no gumming or breakdown. Harbor Freight has it a little cheaper I think, but here’s an amazon link. A tube will last forever...

To be honest, the lettering has never been what I looked at for orientation of the chip. Always looked for the end-notch or dot. This was the first time I’ve seen a full notched line. It was one of those moments where I was pretty sure, but hey, let me ask the people that know WAAAAY more...

I’m an idiot and didn’t notice the orientation of this 8035 when I pulled it. Where is pin #1? I’ve never run across one with a notch down the entire side. My gut says bottom left is pin #1...but I don’t want to let out any magic smoke tonight. Thanks!

Just an fyi, grab a couple of different sizes. Marquee thickness varies through the years. Asteroids and Galaxian (i think) are twice as thick as say Q*bert and Donkey Kong. Speaking from experience. I have a few hanging up in my arcade.
