    Playchoice 10 revival

I used Super Lube on my Donkey Kong joystick. Thin layer has lasted years with no gumming or breakdown. Harbor Freight has it a little cheaper I think, but here’s an amazon link. A tube will last forever...

    Best Commodore 64 Joystick?

For the Vic-20 and Atari 800, my parents and I had our favorites: Mom used the Wico Bat, Dad used the Epix, and I used (and still do) the Tac 2.

The Lovely, Weird, & Wacky conversion thread. Post your pics.

Not gonna lie, I kind of like the Marvel v Capcom/Street Fighter and Batman/Duramold (Blaster?) cabinets. And the Ms.Pac marquee cp is a fun way to do it in a pinch.

    Collecting Hobbies

Comic Books. Mainly Marvel, 19,000 and counting. And G1 Transformers...my Covid boredom splurge was finishing out the 3rd original wave. And Legos, because building them lets me zone out. Oh, and console games....cue Comic Book Guy "Oh, I've wasted my life" memes!

FS Parts: ROUND 2 - Asteroids door mat

See if they have a hidden trove of the Pac-Man mats! I'd buy one of those as well. Edit--Great minds, Gleek! I think we posted at the same time, or damn close.

    Chip orientation

To be honest, the lettering has never been what I looked at for orientation of the chip. Always looked for the end-notch or dot. This was the first time I’ve seen a full notched line. It was one of those moments where I was pretty sure, but hey, let me ask the people that know WAAAAY more...

    Chip orientation

Thank you, both! This jives with the very little I found on the net.

    Chip orientation

I’m an idiot and didn’t notice the orientation of this 8035 when I pulled it. Where is pin #1? I’ve never run across one with a notch down the entire side. My gut says bottom left is pin #1...but I don’t want to let out any magic smoke tonight. Thanks!

Did You Read The Instructions? Or Just Drop In A Quarter?

Since I was young in the early 80s (all of 4 in '80), I watched others play. The games that had the bigger crowds were "grails" to me, as I couldn't see the screen over the people. I loved the double screen on Dragon's Lair later, because I could watch the game with no fuss. But I never...

DK3 missing sounds / no response to credit switch

I have the same issue with missing sounds. I looked up the John’s Arcade: https://youtu.be/lKlX0wBkSR8 He just throws up a message that says it was a bad trace. Let me know what you find! I may take another look tomorrow at mine. I have no clue about the coin-up. Seems like maybe an eprom...

    Any good arcades in Disney

Arcade’s closed, folks. Mouse out front shoulda told ya. Pizza Planet has been PizzaRizzo’s for a few years now. No games. Penny Arcade doesn’t exist at Magic Kingdom at World anymore. The only remnants are upstairs in the train station, and usually are unplugged. Disney Quest is now the NBA...

Mounting Marquees and Bezels on a wall

Just an fyi, grab a couple of different sizes. Marquee thickness varies through the years. Asteroids and Galaxian (i think) are twice as thick as say Q*bert and Donkey Kong. Speaking from experience. I have a few hanging up in my arcade.
