    U2000 pincushion problem

I have a Wells-Gardner U2000 monitor that looks pretty nice, but has quite substantial pincushioning. Is there a way to fix this? I read in another thread that the little upright P764 daughterboard is for pincushion correction, but adjusting the two pots on that board has no effect besides...

WTB: Optical board for Atari trackball

Looking for an optical coupler board for an Atari trackball so I can get my Crystal Castles working again. Atari part number is A035220-02. Also used in Centipede and a few other games. One of the newer reproduction PCBs, like the ones from Riptor or Happ, would also be fine. Thanks.

    My Galaga restoration/rebuild

I just finished restoring/rebuilding my Galaga. I picked this up at a flea market many years ago (along with Pac-Man) and finally got around to fixing it up recently. The cabinet was water damaged beyond repair, since apparently it had been stored outdoors for a long time, so this was my first...

Bubble Bobble bootleg PCB repair help

I trying to solve a graphics issue on this Bubble Bobble bootleg boardset but I'm not having much luck. As you can see from the pics, some of the sprites are messed up. For example, Bub and Bob look fine when facing to the left, but when they face right, they lose some features and get an...

    Capacitor ID

Anyone know what type of capacitor this is? I assumed it was a poly film, but I can't seem to find anything like it at Digikey. It's from a Playchoice game PCB. Can anyone suggest a suitable replacement? Thanks in advance.

    Street Fighter II missing sprites

Someone gave me a Street Fighter II board to try to fix. It plays fine, but it's missing all the graphics for the foreground objects (sprites). In test mode, the "Object" test shows just a solid beige screen, while the "Scroll 1/2/3" tests show all the background graphics properly. All the...

Where to get Hakko 808 filters?

A question for Hakko 808 owners - where is the cheapest place to buy replacement filters (part number A1033) online? Most places I've tried have a high minimum $ amount for orders to Canada, or have ridiculous shipping charges.

    Bubble Bobble PCB not booting

I've been trying to get this Bubble Bobble PCB working but I'm not having much luck. It's currently 'dead' - no sound, no video. The clock inputs at all 3 Z80 CPUs are good and the /RESET line is high. I have a sync output from the video board, but no RGB outputs and there is no activity on...

    Recommend a TTL IC tester?

I'm looking for something to test TTL logic ICs. I know many EPROM programmers have this function, but my GQ-4X does not. I have access to an expensive Dataman programmer at work that does this well (and RAM tests too), but I'd like to have something on my bench at home. Do any of those...

    Williams NVRAM adapters

I had a few people ask me about these lately, so I made another small batch of NVRAM adapters for Williams vid boards. These are intended to eliminate the problem of intermittent settings and high score loss/corruption that sometimes occurs when using a switcher instead of the original linear...
