  1. Official Pole Position Clone/Multigame status thread.

Looking forward to this since 2011, and I still want one! Thanks.
  2. Q*Bert Craigslist Scam Alert!? - Q BERT COIN ARCADE - $300 (NY,NJ,CONN)

By the way, this is how you are getting reeled in for the stock scam.
  3. Arcade Games At College?

Even if you wanted to, I don't think most colleges would allow you to put anything of yours into a common area. And like most of the other posts here, I don't think it's a good idea in the first place. If it's your first semester of college and your first time living away from home, I'd wait...
  4. Little Help Please....

This site has the manual for the NeoTec T2515c. If that's not your NeoTec, do a google search on the model number to find the pinouts for the video connection. Wells has the pinouts on their site. Look for the video/sync picture in the top of the first page. Rearrange the wires if necessary so...
  5. Official Pole Position Clone/Multigame status thread.

That's scary, I hope you get better soon. I have a PP with bad large sprites (large cars and billboards). Do you plan on offering replacement custom IC's or only entire boards? Your board sounds great, but I'd like to repair my original boards as well.
  6. 'Throw' switch for gameroom power? Ideas?

You certainly can't run 15 amps of 120v through an exposed switch. I think you need to use a relay. Then you can have low voltage run through a knife switch while the real electricity is safely protected.
  7. Can this price be right??

It's offered at that price. Until someone buys it, that price is meaningless. I don't know how much this game is worth, but in my experience, most buy-it-now sales on eBay are overpriced.
  8. Heavy Barrel and Mame?

Although you won't get a lot of support for Mame-ing a working machine, the LS-30's work with MAME. You need a Mechanical Rotary Joystick Interface. Ultimarc sells one, I have an older (not the Ultimarc) encoder and haven't had any problems with it. Here are two options if you decide to stick...
  9. Pole Position Bad Large Cars

My logic probe arrived. I have the PP manual and Atari's Book. I want to test the Proms, rams and custom ICs in table 2-1 from the manual that are associated with the large cars, large signs and all cars & signs. Where can I find out how to interpret what the probe tells me?
  10. Any electricians here?

I'm not an electrician, but I own a house built in the 1960s, and don't want or need to call an electrician every time I have a small problem... Anyone who can repair a video game can figure out and work with home electricity. I have a home repair book that covers the basics. Especially if the...
  11. Restore or Not to Restore....

I bought Bondo at Home Depot. But I agree, you should remove the bottom foot or so of that cab and replacing it with new wood.
  12. Pole Position Bad Large Cars

That's the best motivational speech I've heard in a while :)... I've already got the multimeter. Do they have a logic probe at Rat Shack? Or do I need to mail order one? Are there things in a probe I need to look for, or does anyone have a particular model I should look for.
  13. Pole Position Bad Large Cars

I added a +5 and gnd to test points on both the cpu and video boards, still no large cars. I think I need to either get this test equipment or send the boards out.
  14. Pole Position Bad Large Cars

Thanks for the ideas. I tested the trace, and the continuity tester does short from the test points on either side of the damage. I did some searching, and found Womble's How to fix PCBs - A Beginners Guide. So I would need a logic probe and an eprom reader, such as a Wellon VP280 to proceed...
  15. Pole Position Bad Large Cars

I recently picked up a Pole Position. It's my first real arcade machine. I have a MAME machine, so I'm not totally new... The car sprites aren't showing up in the bottom 1/3 of the screen. According to the Service manual the "large car pictures" come from Custom ICs at 12J and 13J. The text on...
