  3. What brand eprom eraser do you own?

FYI, if you're just "repairing" original EPROM chips with their factory image to clear up bit rot, you don't need to erase them first.
  4. need NES games (please help)

Go to www.nintendoage.com The forums there are almost exclusively NES and SNES related.
  5. Who here has arcades out on location making some coin?

There could be targeted fees and licenses outside of whatever the tax rate happens to be. For instance, in my city, if you operate more than 10 machines you pay a $200/year fee, and if you operate 9 or fewer you pay $195/year. Obviously, if you only deploy a couple of machines, a fee structure...
  6. Who here has arcades out on location making some coin?

Hey Parpunk! I've talked about this same idea with DreamTR to get his professional advice, and he says he started with 8 machines, I think. Look at your county/city tax codes and business licensing requirements. Depending on the area you may need more, or less, than that, just to cover the...

  10. adjustment tools

Seller protection in Paypal is as simple as using Delivery Confirmation every time, no matter what. It's not flawless, but it's reasonably effective. As for the cost/hassle of software storefronts, I'm guessing that you're not familiar with the tools available or you would probably have a...
  11. Electric Nail Gun Recommendations?

Any decent compressor should have a regulator that you can dial to whatever pressure you like up the compressor limit. Also, most tools are built to tolerate over 150 psi without failing, as a safety feature. Personally, I'd recommend running a nailer/stapler for finish items between 70 and...
  12. adjustment tools

Not to belabor the point, but Paypal is relatively cheap to accept and he can offer a "cash discount" for other payment methods. Money orders cost the sender money anyway, and the time involved for both parties is worth something. Also...with modern storefront software, inventory control is...
  13. adjustment tools

I'm sure he is "the man"...I see his name dropped all over the place. I would just think that someone expecting to sell/supply things online would have a web page and ordering procedures that didn't look like they were from the early 1990's.

  17. WTB: DK CPO and coin mechs

I picked up a project DK cabinet a few weeks ago, and I'm finally getting around to some of the things that need work. The previous owner paid good money to bastardize the CPO by adding a nice big button to add coins, right in the middle of the Nintendo logo... Add to this the fact that...
  18. Opinions on phoenixed CPS-2 boards

Well, I suppose on the flip side, it's not like it's going to be in an original cabinet, so how much can it really matter :P
  19. Opinions on phoenixed CPS-2 boards

Unless the labels are holding the chips in their sockets there is no need to tamper with them. If you're rewriting an EPROM with it's original image you don't need to erase it before re-flashing it.
  20. Opinions on phoenixed CPS-2 boards

I'm fully aware that Phoenixed ROMs are not original code. They're decrypted versions of the ROMs. That's not was was being referred to in the previous comment. I'm also aware that they're not from the 80's. That comment was in response to discussion upthread about anal retentive collectors...
