i put serial cards in all the microlines I installed.. ( mostly the very nice 184) i have still never seen a printer with DB25 not C36. it really doesnt matter though. IEEE-1284A defines the plug not the cable.. i wanted to make sure it wasnt somehting odd like a laplink style cable...

its weird ive never seen this "standard" and cant find a pinout for it online. every parallel printer cable i ever used was db25-c36 (the one you call the older one) can you suggest a pinout beyond straight through? or is that all there is to it?

would anyone with an advin systems pilot u84plus programmer be able to confim the pinout of the cable? the manual says parallel, the boxes say db25 M-F ? is it just a 1:1 extension cable? or some custom pinout? thanks

also make sure he knows how to measure AC.. i have seen more than one person rip one out because they measure the 69VAC using one leg and ground ( which gets about 25V) and then think its faulty because its "low"

not sure you need a "vertical" one .. pretty sure you just configure it as vertical on setup
