  17. ID PROM used on Midway 8080/BW boardset?

Your programmer is checking every pin of the ROM to make sure they are OK In this case a 2716 EPROM because that is the device you have selected It sees pins 18 and 21 as not connected and reports an error. In your programmer software under Device Options Set the following and try again...
  18. ID PROM used on Midway 8080/BW boardset?

OK so let's think about this, If ROM is not enabled it will read all $FF's When you read it as an 82S191 you got the upper data ($400-$7FF) at location $000-$3FF and all $FF's at location $400-$7FF Pins of 82S191---------- 2616 Pin 21---A10---------------CS3 Pin 20---/CS1--------------CS1...
  19. ID PROM used on Midway 8080/BW boardset?

Sorry But No. Signetics 82S291 is only compatible with the 82S191 if the chip select pins are programmed the same as 82S191 see datasheet. AM9216 is not a direct replacement Pin 19 is different otherwise same, but the Signetics 2617 is 2K x 8 also. Has A10 at pin 21 and two chip selects Pin...
  20. ID PROM used on Midway 8080/BW boardset?

Most likely Signetics 82S291, or 2616 or 2617 My guess 2616 with programmed chip selects which means you will have to set the CE pins manually for each ROM. Look on the underside of the ROM for a number.
