  1. Space Invaders monitor issue. Burn? Other?

I think it is the one that is out of stock that I need for the 19v1001 monitor :(.
  2. Space Invaders monitor issue. Burn? Other?

I'm still struggling on this one - if it is a board problem, I'm not sure where to look/test. For the Big cap (4 caps in 1) on the chassis - I searched around for info - all I could find were the types/sizes of the replacement caps (using 4 individual caps), however, I didn't see the...
  3. Space Invaders monitor issue. Burn? Other?

Relative to background color - I am guessing that the fluorescent tube was replaced with a plain white tube rather than a white-black light. No errors during the Braze self test (system indicates tests are ok). The monitor showed the same weirdness with the original game ROM (before I...
  4. Space Invaders monitor issue. Burn? Other?

Here's a picture of the screen during one of the tests - basically a screen grid. Any further guidance is appreciated. Thank you.
  5. Space Invaders monitor issue. Burn? Other?

Thanks jungleking and creepykenny. I'll poke around the system a little. I can also re-install the original ROMs in the event that the Braze kit doesn't have a test feature. I appreciate the guidance and I'll update the thread if/when I have any info from doing a screen test.
  6. Space Invaders monitor issue. Burn? Other?

I don't have a crafty mech, nor another b/w machine. I have a Ms. Pac/Galaga and a Defender :), but that is it. Maybe a board problem as suggested by security00001? Thank you.
  7. Space Invaders monitor issue. Burn? Other?

Thank you for the feedback - I appreciate it. I can find my way around boards and do simple repairs but this will be challenging...
  8. Space Invaders monitor issue. Burn? Other?

I have a Space Invaders game. Everything works. Cap kit just installed (new cap kit did not make a difference). The problem is that images on approximately 1/2 of the screen as washed out or not fully showing. I'm really not sure what to look for to try to fix the problem. Any ideas and...

  10. WG7203 / P819 Flyback playing blind issue; flyback install question

re: adjusting pots - that might be a recipe for disaster for me. Seems like there are a number of pots on the board, etc. I haven't located the place to test b+ yet - I'm guessing there is a test point but I don't see it in the schematics and I don't have a board layout diagram. I will...
  11. WG7203 / P819 Flyback playing blind issue; flyback install question

screen knob - I haven't touched the knobs - was hoping the replacement was "plug n play". Will do so. Will also research how to get a DMM reading of B+ (never done that before - learning new things :)). Thank you.
  12. WG7203 / P819 Flyback playing blind issue; flyback install question

Hi Paul. Thanks for the reply. I plugged it in and turned it on. The whine/hum is gone although I do hear "power" going to the monitor. I don't get any neck glow. And, the game plays blind and I can't get it to show up even after rebooting (unlike before, I was able to get it to work...
  13. WG7203 / P819 Flyback playing blind issue; flyback install question

WG7203 / P819 Flyback playing blind issue; flyback install question Hi. Big time noobie here. I know my way around pinball machines, but not video games. I have a Ms Pac/Galaga reunion game that would play blind when first starting it up. If I would reboot it after a minute of it being on...
