  1. Please help me remember!!

Hello mate, Sounds a lot like Thundercade (Taito 1987). Hope that's of some help. Anyway, it's listed on KLOV.
  2. Earliest examples of certain genres.

Hello again. Thanks to those of you who have replied. The mechanical games site sounds great, but at the moment I'm after the earliest videogames. I'm guessing Shoot-'em-up = Space Wars Driving = Night Driver Beat-'em-up = Karate Champ These are probably incorrect, so if anyone can throw any...

  5. Re: leslie m collins

Re: leslie m collins Look, this chap is quite obviously taking the p**s out of us all (and lets face it, given how seriously some of you take all this, it's fair enough). Collins (or whatever your real name is) reveal yourself. My money is on the fact that "Mr Collins" and "Greywolf" are one...
  6. leslie m collins

If you can put up with the rants (some of which I actually find quite amusing) then leslie m collins is actually quite a useful person to have on the forum. I remember him from the old forum and if you can put up with his "unique" brand of humour you'll find that he knows quite a bit about...

  8. laser disc games

Yes. Still, if it's the same person at least he/she knows their stuff. Just hope they take it a bit easier this time. Given the recent posts this looks unlikely.
  9. Can't remember this game's name

Re: Can\'t remember this game's name Hello, I reckon it might be Gain Ground by Sega (1988). Then again what do I know? It's listed on KLOV if you want to check. Cheers,
  10. looking for an old game

Sounds to me like Xain'd Sleena from Technos. The game was called Solar-Warrior in the US and Soldier of Light in the UK. It's listed on KLOV and can be played on MAME. Hope that's of some help.
  11. Some game from early 90's...

Hello, I think the game you're describing is called The Adventures Of Edward Randy (or just Edward Randy), by Data East 1989. It's listed on KLOV if you want to check.
  12. Will arcades be around in five or six years?

Excuse the spelling (it's late). Sorry my friends, but the golden days of the arcade era are gone and they are never coming back. My Uncle used to own quite a few arcades here in the UK and by the mid-nineties the bottom had more or less dropped out of the coin-operated videogames market. The...
  13. Another name the game

Hello, It could be Truxton (Tatsujin in Japan) or Truxton II (Tatsujin Ou in Japan). As I recall the ship was round and red (although I could well be wrong). With that said it could also be one of a million other vertical shoot-'em-ups released during the same period. Hope that's of some help.
  14. Name the game

Hello, The game you're talking about could be Cabal (1988). Cheers.
  15. help name that airplane game

It could be Firefox (1984) by Atari.
  16. Help identifying game?

Probably way off here, but you could be thinking of either of the Gunforce games by Irem. Or failing that maybe Xain'd Sleena (also known as Soldier of Light). All are listed on Klov. With that said, none of these games have an options bar (at least to the best of my knowledge).
  17. Starblade machine for sale in UK.

I don't know if this is of any interest to anybody, but there is a Starblade cabinet for sale on eBay in the UK (Leeds area), with no reserve price on it. The bid currently stands at £10. Keep in mind the machine weighs 896 pounds and is unlikely to fit through the doors of your house (unless...

  19. Please help!! What is this game called?

Come to think of it, the game you're describing could be either DEVIL WORLD of DARK ADVENTURE. Both are near identical, but the former is two-player only. The latter, on the other hand, had three main characters and contained a three-player option.
