  1. FS Game: Soul Edge (precursor to Soul Caliber) Phoenix, AZ $700

Seems to be around these parts in the southwest.
  2. FS Game: Soul Edge (precursor to Soul Caliber) Phoenix, AZ $700

Well then, time to let that Rolling Thunder find its way to a new home ;)
  3. Sanity check on my K4900 - no red

Well, going back to basics checked out. I am both delighted and angry (at myself) at the same time. TPG was good - all colors/patterns as you would expect. As I went to plug the board-to-chassis molex back in, I noticed the red pin wasn’t seated well. Wouldn’t you know, it’s perfect now 🤦🏼...
  4. Sanity check on my K4900 - no red

Cool - I do have a TPG and, for whatever reason, haven't bothered to validate the loss with it; will do so today. I do have a pin puller - the board on these things are buttoned up in a case so I'll see where the TPG takes me.
  5. Sanity check on my K4900 - no red

Horiz-mounted K4900 in my Afterburner upright, never had any red color and I'd like to wrap up this 10+ year project. I have reflowed the chassis and neckboard, full cap replacement, replaced all the transistors and diodes in the red pathways, and cleaned/rejuv'd with my Heathkit to no avail -...
  6. 19XX - no sound / unfamiliar piggyback board

Yeah - that's where I posted and they also recommended replacing the supercap. Completed the swap, works like a charm. THAT SAID - I already have an orig 1943 board and intend to make a all-things-1942/43/44/45/XX cab. I'm happy to part with the DarkSoft board since it doesn't have the LCD...
  7. Dynamic convergence - what/where to grab?

Going to be doing my first dynamic convergence adjustment on a K5501. I’m… a little nervous grabbing the yoke while live. Got a pair of rubber gloves and and up-to-date insurance policy - can someone advise at what point (A, B, C, or D in the pic) to hold/move? I’ve watched several CRT...
  8. 19XX - no sound / unfamiliar piggyback board

Update: found the volume reset routine by holding VOL DOWN and powering up the machine, then VOL UP to desired loudness. However, it requires this with each startup. Have a post on another board that is focused on CPS2 hardware support, will update shortly.
  9. 19XX - no sound / unfamiliar piggyback board

Indeed - it's started me down a rabbit-hole of learning about CPS2 boards and the like. The original intent was to convert the cab to a 1943-decorated multi-jamma for all things 194x (42, 43, 44, 45, XX, etc.) - guess I'll see where this journey takes me. I'll update as I find out more.
  10. 19XX - no sound / unfamiliar piggyback board

Picked up a cab with 19XX. Plays fine, but no sound when first booted. Then, randomly in between one of the power cycles while checking over everything, it powered up with sound. Yay! Son and I had a good time breaking in the game. However, subsequent power cycles have no sound. Checked all...
  11. WG 19-inch K4600 width coil

    PM sent :)
  12. WG 19-inch K4600 width coil

I know - unobtanium - however the cab I just picked up has a trashed and bastardized coil. I'll work with the width caps as well, but would like to tidy up the back of this if anyone is parting out a chassis? Thank you. Don
  13. ***** Wanted or "I might sell/trade" for Las Vegas

But May 4th is forever from now! :)
  14. ***** Wanted or "I might sell/trade" for Las Vegas

If someone in Vegas has a Galaga u/r or 1943 they want to part with, I'd be happy to drive up from Phoenix and willing to transport other cabs to/from on the trip at bro pricing.
  15. WTB: Galaga and/or 1943 (dedicated U/R)

Looking for a dedicated Galaga and a 1943. Projects preferred, will consider refurb'd. Will p/u - looking in southwest (within 500-750 mi. of Phoenix).
  16. After Burner U/R restore - in progress

Vector update Couldn't tell ya? Neither of mine are. Small update from the artist vectorizing the artwork; looks like he's getting close!
  17. After Burner U/R restore - in progress

Finding metric carriage bolts in a black color was a PITA, so I sanded down the ones I had and resprayed them along with the speaker covers. NOS decals and warning lights installed, test fit is looking pretty good!
  18. After Burner U/R restore - in progress

Well - did it - looks like it turned out OK. Fine vinyl tape is great to create a sharp edge; the paper tape didn't cut it on the donor plexi. I used small strips of electrical tape to cover the holes before applying the plexi - spray pain doesn't stick well to this plexi, and you cannot sand it...
  19. After Burner U/R restore - in progress

Thanks - I shoot Martin Senour and Ultra 7000, affordable stuff from Sherwin-Williams since things like this are hobby only and no way related to the day job. Frustrating setback today - my NOS windscreen replacement doesn't fit my newly painted bezel. It fits my donor bezel just fine (and...
  20. After Burner U/R restore - in progress

If by annoying you mean drive one to have homicidal tendancies, indeed! I'm still boosted nowadays, just in the form of a diesel with manufacturer's warranty. :)
