Anyone remember the "Electronic Experience" arcade?

This is awesome! I went to the Internet Archive and the person that uploaded that issue of Play Meter also uploaded a bunch of others. Including the next issue that also has Electronic Experience on the cover. I don’t remember the lights being so bright inside, but they may have had them that...

Anyone remember the "Electronic Experience" arcade?

The Electronic Experiance arcades were owned by United Artists theaters and usually appeared in malls that had a UA theater. In addition to Golden Triangle in Denton, there were also Electronic Experience arcades in Northeast Mall in Hurst and Crossroads Mall in Greenville. One of the cool...

    Punch-out vs Mike Tysons Punch-out

Also, I'm sure Tyson losing to Buster Douglas on February, 11, 1990 didn't help either. Douglas himself got his own game on the Sega Genesis later that year as well.

    Disneyland's Starcade as of 4.6.13

Legally I don't think they can. There is no handicap access to the second floor. While I understand the intent of the law, it does kind of suck. Less than 5 percent of park visitors can't make it to the second floor to play these cool games, so now no one can. It's like we are being punished for...

    Mortal KomPac

Am I the only one that was expecting a Mortal Kombat in a Pac cabinet? I do remember seeing a number of Namco Classics Collections in this cabinet back in the 90's. usually with 8-way joysticks that made it impossible to play Pac Man. I guess at this point I'm so numb from seeing bad...

    Clear Plexi Ms.Pacman Cabinet

Many of the games from the museum ended up at an arcade auction in Mesquite, TX on Dec 13, 1997. The clear Ms. Pac was there and was won by someone from id Software for $2200. At the time they said there were only four made like that.

Whoa. I Never Even Knew this Existed.

Maybe the Robotron/Defender re-releases just weren't bought by very many operators? The only times I've actually seen them in the flesh were at an arcade auction and Disney Quest. In both cases they were the dedicated 25" monitor versions. I bought some back issues of Game Room Magazine before...

    Typing of the Dead

I saw one on eBay a few years ago that was located in the USA. The game looks like a modified Naomi upright cab with the two keyboards added. The same seller also had a Samba de Amigo version 2000 arcade unit for sale as well. Still wished I picked those up.

Joust Cocktail table value in 2012

Other than the low production number, is there some other advantage to the Joust cocktail? I own a Space Duel cocktail and it's easier to play co-op since you aren't elbowing the other player the entire time. I don't remember having any similar issues with the Joust upright.

    Tell me about Power Drive...

I played this game a ton when I was in middle school and hanging out at the local bowling alley. I hadn't seen one since then until I played it at Funspot last year. Like a lot of games the memory is better than the actual game play. That being said, with three players the gameplay is much more...

    building inspector suck

I just watched Exidy's news spot again. Did you catch the part at the end? The city wants him to send them a note that says none of the games are for sale and he is just a collector. Isn't part of collecting things buying, selling, and trading? If a private citizen can't sell things from their...

FS: 2 Arcadeshop programmable multi jamma boards

I have for sale two original Arcadeshop programmable Multi-PCBs. These are the actual boards Arcadeshop sold, not the inferior knockoffs that appeared later. One goes for $190 and the other for $200. The $200 one includes the D2K Jumpman Returns license. I also have a power supply and...

Atari neon signs... (split off of Tron Recognizer Neon thread)...

I realize I should just be happy there is any Atari neon available, but is their any chance we could get the classic Atari logo from the 70's and 80's? The one currently for sale is the logo that was used in the late 90's on console and PC games I believe. The classic logo was usually white...

star wars in the movie gremlins

Notice that like most times when games appear in tv shows and movies they don't use the correct sound for the game. In this case it sounds like an Atari 2600 game.

    Space Duel free play hack??

Space Duel free play hack on a cocktail Just a heads up to anyone thinking about using the free play ROM on their Space Duel cocktail. It does work, but with one small problem. Both the attract screen and the game type selection screen are flipped to the player two side. Once the game starts it...

    Light issue with Tron LE

Sorry if that didn't fix your problem. There are about eight Tron:LE's in the north Texas area and one of the first guys to get his posted about the problem and the solution, I think someone on RGP told him. I got my game a few days later and with all the problems I was seeing reported here and...

    Light issue with Tron LE

I knew about the problem before I opened mine so I was already on the lookout for it. I played about a dozen games before I started noticing insert lights on when they shouldn't have been. So it wasn't doing it right out of the box. When I clipped the zip tie it instantly fixed it though.

    Light issue with Tron LE

This is no big deal and many Tron LE games have the same problem. There is a small main wiring LED harness that runs between most of the bigger LED boards under the playfield. It specifically plugs into the long board running up the center for the modes and to the board of LED's in front of the...

What a $40 mystery game looks like

At least in the north Texas area UA operated arcades in malls with UA theaters in them under the Electronic Experience name. They were pretty cool, they had monitors mounted in the wall facing out into the mall. They were actually hooked up to games in the arcade so you could see if they had a...
