  1. Need help identifying this monitor

Hi all, Thanks so far! The board does indeed look a lot like a K5515 board, but the monitor is for sure a standard resolution, and the K5515 is a medium resolution. Does that matter in terms of the cap kit? Doing a little more research, it seems like it may be a K5500 or K5501. A cap kit for...
  2. Need help identifying this monitor

I want to perform a cap kit on this monitor but the part number label has been ripped off for some reason. I’ve been able to glean that it’s a wells Gardner 25”, perhaps in the K7000 series. Can anyone help me out?
  3. Intermittent flickering blue on K4800?

I will give it a shot. Thank you!
  4. Intermittent flickering blue on K4800?

Would that be the pins on the neckboard that connect to the header that connect to the CRT?
  5. Intermittent flickering blue on K4800?

I picked up a Baby Pac-Man about a month ago, and have been refurbishing it to the best of my ability. The monitor is a Wells-Gardner K4800. It arrived in okay shape already, but after I did a cap kit, the picture was actually pretty great. An issue I noticed that was *not* fixed by the cap...
  6. Nanao MC2000-S takes forever to warm up

So I have a Nanao MC2000-S inside of a Zaxxon cabinet. There is no picture immediately after it gets powered on; however, if I wait about an hour, the picture gradually comes on (with some flickering), and then reaches full brightness. I've done a cap kit and that didn't fix it. Does anyone...
  7. 60-in-1 Picture Issues

I know the 60-in-1 boards can be garbage, but I'd like to salvage the one I have without having to buy another. So some backstory... About three years ago, I bought one of these from a fellow KLOVer and it worked fine, but maybe two years ago, I started having picture issues. The colors would...
  8. Color Issues on Nanao MC-2000?

I'm working on a Nanao MC-2000 monitor inside a Zaxxon cocktail that I converted to a 60-in-1 (don't worry, the conversion is undoable). Ever since I procured this machine, the monitor has always been a little flaky. The image was always very dim and would take up to a half hour to fully come...
  9. What are the correct bulb replacements for my Sega Turbo?

What are the correct bulb replacements for my Sega Turbo? I pulled 9 wedge-type bulbs out of my recently-acquired Sega Turbo, and they're all blown. I can't imagine this is a coincidence. The bulbs I pulled out are Stanley 158's which appear to be 3.36W 14V bulbs. Looking at the Turbo...
  10. Sega Turbo High Score Save

Sounds good, I'll just wait. Thanks!
  11. Sega Turbo High Score Save

Just would like to throw my interest into the hat... I would buy a Turbo high score save kit. In the mean time, where can I get the freeplay mod from?
  12. Sega Turbo Audio Hum?

I fixed the issue. In case anyone else comes across this thread, I'll show what fixed it. It took a while, but after going through the schematic, I found that the sound board takes in two voltages: +5V from the switching power supply, and +12V from a custom Sega power supply. The custom...
  13. Sega Turbo Audio Hum?

It's a consistent tone on all four channels that doesn't change no matter what is on the screen. It is affected by the volume pot; if I turn it up, the hum gets louder, if I turn it down, the hum gets quieter.
  14. Sega Turbo Audio Hum?

So I replaced most of the capacitors that seem to perform AC noise filtering (as per the schematic), and it made no appreciable difference in the hum. In fact, I tested the old capacitors with my DMM after I had removed them from the board, and they all seemed good. After doing a bit more...
  15. Anyone attempt: Jamma Boards 6-in-1 switcher mod for all powered channels

Wouldn't be hard to do, just route the incoming voltage pins to each slot on the underside of the board. But, that's not a great idea. Besides wasting electricity and generating heat, you're probably risking overloading the PSU. It's better to just leave it the way it is, imho.
  16. Sega Turbo Audio Hum?

You're probably right, I just checked some of the caps, and more than a few are shorted. Probably need to recap the entire board. That sucks since there's probably close to 50 caps on here, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Thanks!
  17. Sega Turbo Audio Hum?

I just procured a sit-down Sega Turbo, and it only has a couple problems with it. The first is that some of the cars show as a long white line that spans the length of the screen vertically. I haven't looked into that issue much yet, but I'm sure that has something to do with the sprite chip...
  18. Can someone help me learn more about this Draw Poker machine I picked up?

Can someone help me learn more about this Draw Poker machine I picked up? I originally posted this on reddit.com/r/cade before I bought it over here: http://www.reddit.com/r/cade/comments/1jj9w7/as_a_computer_nerd_this_find_inside_this_draw/ I then bought it and then made an update over here...
  19. Would a cap kit fix these problems?

That's really unfortunate. I will see if I can find someone with a rejuvenator. In the meantime, is it safe to play after it has warmed up a little, or am I just doing more damage to it?
