    NeoLoch Inquisitor SRAM Feedback

Hello everyone, Finally got a break from keeping up on orders and other projects and I'm taking a look at updating the SRAM MCU as well as moving forward on the POKEY blade. This post is about the SRAM blade. I'm gearing up to add some additional tests and I want to take a real good look at...

    Pokey datasheet?

Very interesting, thanks for the link!

    Pokey datasheet?

I'm sure I will, it's nice to know how those will effect the system overall. I've seen some PIAs pull a bit (ton) more current than they should...

    Pokey datasheet?

This is something that joemagiera has asked me to look into. Going through my files I see I had at one point started collecting some information, not much, on the Pokey. With this datasheet and some other information I've dug up I think I can start work on a blade for the Inquisitor. However...

Perhaps. Once I get these other blades completed I'll take a look at where else this tester can go.

I might have more room, I won't know for sure until I get the PC board order in. I'll post in this thread once the boards arrive.

With more and more people asking for TTL tester..... Okay, it's on the list though it will be a while before it's ready. As for a CPU blade... Not likely. Best way to test a CPU is to plug it into something that uses that CPU and give it a whirl. :)

No, that LED just won't work, that's about it. Everything else will be fine. I would recommend figuring out which LED is incorrect though. The "Card Error" will light up if no card is installed. And the over-voltage will always be slightly lit, so both are easy to check.

Well, how would you (and anyone else interested) like to get your hands on a beta model? I've been thinking about starting a new program that would allow some users to purchase an early beta model and provide feedback and help with development. The purchase price would also include a production...

The idea of a 74xx tester has been brought up before, over on Pinside. I just don't see the need to develop a 74xx blade when there are already capable solutions available. A search on Ebay reveals a myriad of products that should serve the need just fine. Though, I'm not ruling out a 74xx blade...

No, I'm not offering a discount or trade in at this time. I did offer a discount when the Inquisitor was first released, but that special expired several months ago. I will also be offering newer blades at a discount for a short time after release, probably for the first month or so.

Back in March of 2015, I posted a video on my personal YouTube channel talking about the evolution of the tester and the various issues each design had. Towards the end I demonstrate an early prototype of the Inquisitor tester. Below is the link: https://youtu.be/swmmMyY3j8k?t=11m2s

The new tester solves a lot of problems the older model had, such as failing good 2114s and 6514s. It also adds the ability to change out the "brains" (blades) so that other types of ICs can be tested. The Inquisitor system is far superior to the previous testers I've offered. Right now...

No, not for the 4116 Blade, the different voltages could easily cause DRAM destruction. However, I can see adding this to the SRAM blade in the future. Since I only have 2 4164s on hand and I think both of those are dead, I need to get some 4164s. Got any you'd be willing to sell?
