Help Identifying PCB Skee Ball Lightning

No I don't at the moment. I did offer services a while back, but my full time job keeps me busy. Hopefully I'll start again sometime soon, as I still have a testbench and parts.

Help Identifying PCB Skee Ball Lightning

Lighting had 3 versions of the PCB 1-Model S Lightniing 2-N1C (limited run) This is what you have pictured 3-N1E As a side note, that is my initials on that repair tag from almost 23 years ago! I worked at Skeeball for a few years!

    Any games in your collection...

I got a couple! Spy Hunter from the arcade at our local farmers market. (Zerns market) Dig Dug from the local bowling alley (Lans-Bowl) No Fear pinball from the Time Out arcade in the mall. (Montgomeryville Mall) Safecracker pinball- this was at a go kart place that I had gone to several times...

How did operators get flyers back in the day?

Trade shows and local distributors had them. I remember seeing racks of them them at Betson dist. back in late 90's. They had them by the entrance as you walked in, and it would be the newest games.

    Have some basic Skeeball questions...

I would suggest a Model S classic machine with bonus (100 point) pockets Maybe I'm biased, but I believe these to be the best playing and reliable version of Skeeball made. Stay away from Model S Lightning machines, the displays are very fragile and no longer available.

    Spy Hunter world record

Long story short- Paul Cheated and the truth is finally out. His score did mean that much to him because he lied about it for years and even threatened lawsuit against Twin Galaxies LOL! I’m sure he is a great player, but unfortunately he decided to lie/ cheat on his score. He couldn’t keep...

That dreaded long drive to pick up a game....(Do you mind driving long distances?)

Nice! I have a 2002 Lightning that I have owned for almost 15 years. I've done quite a few arcade hauls with that truck. It now has 56K and just gets taken out on the weekends.

Who is doing New Year's Eve in their home arcade?

Yep....it's been a tradition for over 15 years! I have all the games fired up, and ready to go. It's great because it's so cold here around this time of year, and having the basement arcade fired up is great entertainment. I also always hold a contest on New Years. I choose a pinball machine...

    Questions on Skeeball I acquired

Sounds like you got a mix match of parts going on. The HELP is related to the ticket dispenser not working. As mentioned you can disable that by flipping Dipswitch #1. Skeeball did offer a "single ball" system on the Model S. The later Model S machines did use scoring optos, and they did offer...

    Skee Ball won't release balls

When you pull the board to solder the relay- see if the software revision is on the label for the game EPROM. One EPROM is for sound (WHSND) the other is the game EPROM.

    Skee Ball won't release balls

The tickets are not related to the ball release. As mentioned be careful removing and soldering the relays- very easy to damage the board especially if you are not experienced soldering.

    Beacon for Skee Ball Xtreme

You have to have the software to support the beacon and bell. They made it for carnivals, and special location machines.

    Skee Ball won't release balls

I would bet that it is NOT dispensing a ticket correctly. It is attempting to dispense a ticket but is not receiving the (ticket dispensed/ notch) signal. If the main PCB does not receive this signal after a second of turning on the ticket dispenser, it will no longer dispense any tickets. At...

Skeeball model S release arm operation

It is likely that the software in your machine does not match up to the label for the dipswitch settings. You probably changed the setting from "single ball release" to "rocker arm release". The single ball system would act exactly as you described, because mechanically it has a different ball...

What have been your MOST and LEAST reliable games?

The most reliable I have owned is Dig Dug- I went over the machine when I got it back in 1995, and has never failed me! The pain in the ass in my collection has been 4 player Demolition Derby. From monitor issues, power supplies, and logic failures, it has given me the most headaches of all my...
