  1. Nintendo Hum - SOLVED! (20EZ buzz)

Just wanted to post a shout-out to the original poster. I've been living with the loud speaker hum for the last 15 years, and stumbled across this thread when searching for ways to kill it. Ordered the parts, installed in 10 minutes, and man, what a difference! Thanks so much for this!
  2. WTB DK or DK Jr PCB

My DK continues to sit idle, and the natives (kids) are getting restless. Anyone want to part with a working DK or DK Jr PCB? Would be willing to trade an entire Popeye kit (PCB, Marquee, Bezel, CPO) for one, or just buy it out right. Let me know.
  3. StarWars upright will it fit in Ford Explorer?

When I picked up a Star Wars in my explorer years ago, I had to put the passenger seat forward, and lean the backrest forward as well (to make room for the marquee that juts out), and then loaded the game into the truck on it's back. In addition, I had to open the back door glass so the bottom...
  4. #@%! shill bidders...

I really hate people that make it this obvious that they use a fake account to buy back their own stuff rather than sell it for less than they want. PUT A RESERVE ON IT NEXT TIME! eBay ass-hat My beautiful DK has been sitting empty without a PCB for the past month and the kids are getting...
  5. Toobin' monitor?

Re: Toobin\' monitor? Last time my brother and I had a monitor cage sticking out (Dig Dug), we actually took the monitor back out and cut the offending corner right off the frame (around 2 or 3 inches).
  6. Tron Monitor Replacement

Any opinions if the $155 Wells Gardner is better/worse than the Happ Vision Pro?
  7. Sideart installation - stand up or lay down

For something like that, I would probably keep it upright. I will only lay a game down for side-art if it's really big and hard to manage artwork like Centipede.
  8. TRON cabinet be flimsy when it's taken apart...

Then it might just be mine. Alot of the joints look a bit on the loose side.
  9. TRON cabinet be flimsy when it's taken apart...

General observation. The thing is practically held together by the 7000 pieces that attach to it collectively. Take them all off (to prepare for painting) and the thing is pretty flimsy, especially the upper-half.
  10. Working Star Castle in Allentown, PA - $100

Not mine. Some water damage at the bottom, otherwise working. http://allentown.craigslist.org/tag/894189641.html
  11. WTB: Tested and working Donkey Kong PCB

  12. Roll call for Timonium,MD auction...

This coming Saturday morning. Preview 8-10.
  13. Arcadeshop Multi-Game vs. 60-in-1

Any thoughts on this? I'm thinking about buying a 60-in-1 when the next batch gets ordered, but I'm not too partial to the menu screen, and I hear that some of the games are "off". On the flip-side, the Arcadeshop Multi-Game PCB is expensive, but the games are dead-on (so I hear), and the menu...
  14. Roll call for Timonium,MD auction...

I'll be there. I'm going to make absolutely sure there is no room in my garage for the cars this winter. Look for the tan Steelers hat.
  15. DK Graphics locking up.

With and without. You can see it when it starts to happen if you're watching. The characters start to freeze on and off during attract, like the whole thing suddenly slows down to 1 frame per second (skipping the missed frames). Eventually those sprites will completely freeze, and the attract...
  16. DK Graphics locking up.

Yes, and I've since completely removed the kit and have tried 2 different Z80's right on the board. Same results.
  17. DK Graphics locking up.

No, after about an hour, it's doing the same thing. It continues to cycle through the attract loop, but the sprites and graphics are getting "stuck".
  18. DK Graphics locking up.

Does Popeye happen to use a Z80? EDIT: Answered my own question. Trying that now.
  19. DK Graphics locking up.

Yea, resetting the chips, replaced the ribbon cables too.
